As you explore the Valley with your new friends, you’ll uncover plenty of secrets and hidden items. Disney Dreamlight Valley is full of adventure, and your Disney and Pixar buddies will happily live in harmony as they attempt to regain their lost memories over time.

Since each character has a unique role to play in the village, you’ll often help them accomplish their goals and rediscover the magic hidden in the Valley. Jasmine has secrets of her own, and as your relationship grows, you’ll help her unlock the secrets of the past. Here’s everything you need to know to help her start that process!
How To Build A Sea Sand Torch
After discovering the locked journal within the enchanted flower, Jasmine does more research to figure out how to unlock it. Before you can begin this quest, you’ll need to have Moana and Maui in your village, as well as unlock the Glade of Trust.
Upon reaching friendship level four with Jasmine, she’ll ask you to speak with Moana about making a special sea sand torch to collect sea sand sparks. Moana is eager to help, and requests that you find the following materials:
- Softwood (5)
- Fiber (5)
- Sand (3)
- Aquamarine (1)
With these materials in your inventory, bring them to Moana in exchange for the sea sand torch. Then, place the torch on Dazzle Beach and check in with Jasmine. Head to the torch together to collect the sea sand sparks.
How To Build A Sand Castle
Next, you’ll need to collect the Special Starfish, which Maui has. Talk to him about a trade and he’ll happily hand it over–if you can beat him in a competition of your choice. Head back to Jasmine to discuss your options, then watch as she challenges the demigod to a sandcastle building contest.
Jasmine will build the centerpiece if you focus on the rest. Head to a crafting station with the following materials to build the sand towers, walls, and door:
- Sand (50)
- Clay (14)
- Seaweed (7)
With these materials, you can craft a Sandcastle Kit. This includes four sand towers, three sand walls, and one sand door. Craft them, then collect the castle centerpiece from Jasmine.
While the sandcastle pieces go together smoothly, they don’t need to be connected to count. You can also craft more pieces if you want a more elaborate build.
Decorate Dazzle Beach with the newly crafted sandcastle pieces, then talk to Maui to initiate the judging. Watch as he and Jasmine evaluate the sandcastle, then talk with Jasmine to receive the Special Starfish.
How To Make The Beach Key
With the Sea Sand Sparks and Special Starfish in your inventory, hurry to a crafting station to finally create the Beach Key. With the key, you can return to Jasmine and Aladdin’s house to unlock one of the two locks on the secret journal.
Once you’ve taken off the first lock, chat with Jasmine to wrap up the quest. While there’s still more to do to unlock the secret journal, you’ll have to wait until you build your relationship with Jasmine more.
