Great news for Dota 2 fans and players in China and SEA, as the HERO Esports Asian Champions League kicks off later this month. The big winner will receive a slot for the Esports World Cup and another team will also get the chance to compete at DreamLeague Season 26.
The ACL, which is taking place in Shanghai, officially started on Feb.15 and wil lend on June 1, 2025. The Dota 2 event is set to begin soon so let’s dive in and learn more about it.

Asian Champions League Dota 2 Offers Teams A Ticket To EWC
Dota 2 fans in Asia and worldwide will be happy to know that Dota 2 will be one of the games at the HERO ESPORTS Asian Champions League. In fact, the tournament will have three distinct stages:
- Online Qualifier
- Season Finals
- Grand Finals
Let’s dive into more details:
Online Qualifiers
Teams wishing to participate in the Online Qualifiers can play between March 7 (from today) and 30. Unlike other events, the HERO ESPORTS Asian Champions League qualifiers will be open to everyone. Each week of the Online Qualifiers will have one champion, with four in total.
Season Finals
Alongside the four champions from the Online Qualifiers, the Season Finals will include four directly invited Dota 2 teams – Xtreme Gaming, Yakult Brothers, and Tidebound.
Four out of the eight teams will receive slots for the Grand Final. As mentioned earlier, the team winning the Season Finals will get a direct invitation for DreamLeague Season 26. The latter will take place between May 19 and June 1 and will have a $1,000,000 prize pool.
Grand Finals
Once it is time for the Grand Finals of the ACL Dota 2 tournament, four teams will compete for the big prize. The victorious Dota 2 squad will receive $100,000 and an invite to the Esports World Cup. Make sure to mark May 16 in your calendar because this is when the Grand Finals will take place.
