The Doom Anthology SteelBook comes with digital copies of six iconic entries in the series. Included are Doom, Doom 2, Doom 64, Doom 3, Doom (2016), and Doom Eternal Deluxe Edition. Doom 3 was essentially a reboot of the original Doom, but with a more survival horror feel.
The final two titles in the Doom Anthology SteelBook are the two modern incarnations of the series: 2016’s Doom and its 2019 sequel, Doom Eternal. Developed yet again by id Software but now published by Bethesda, the modern reboot was released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One to mostly glowing reviews. Just as Doom 2 impressively followed up the original Doom, critics were very impressed with Doom Eternal as a sequel to the 2016 reboot.
A “Big, Uh, Freakin’ Gun”
Also part of the Doom Anthology SteelBook is an awesome replica of the Doom series’ BFG. The gun made a cameo in Quake II with the shooter’s manual stating BFG stands for “Big, Uh, Freakin’ Gun”. But you can probably read through the lines as to what id Software was really going for with the acronym.
The BFG replica is 5-inches in size. It has LED lights built in and includes a stand for display. It’s a really cool piece of gaming merch that enthusiasts of the Doom series will love.
