Summary
- Eustass Kid should retire due to his continuous defeats and lack of importance in the overall story.
- Big Mom and Kaido, if alive, should retire as pirates to allow the next generation to rise.
- Characters like Marco, Gecko Moria, Apoo, and Kuzan should consider retiring for various reasons.
The world of One Piece is filled with pirates to the brim as that is what the vast majority of the story is about. This is a story where Roger essentially started the Great Age of Pirates, leading to an influx of these criminals on the seas. Fans have seen a plethora of incredible pirates over the years, and while some of them are strong, others are way too weak.

Among all those pirates, Oda has also introduced quite a few who, at the end of the day, have either done their part and should be resting now, or are not suited to the life of a pirate. These other characters should end up retiring sooner or later.
7
Eustass Kid
Crew: Kid Pirates
Eustis Kid is one of the members of the Worst Generation and he’s certainly one of the most ferocious pirates on the seas. Recently, Kid clashed with Shanks, and in this battle, he was utterly destroyed. Even his pirate ship was destroyed and sunk to the bottom of the ocean. Kid has faced utter defeat on many occasions in the story, and for a pirate with luck as terrible as his, it might just be time for him to back up and call it today.
It is clear that Kid will never be as important as Luffy nor will he reach the One Piece. For him, it is simply better to retire and be happy with what he has accomplished so far.

Big Mom (If Alive)
Crew: Big Mom Pirates
The fate of Big Mom remains unknown at this point in time. However, if Big Mom is truly alive, then she should retire as a pirate. Big Mom served for many decades as a Yonko of the Sea. In Wano, she was ripped from her throne, and it is time for her to allow the next generation to consolidate their place among the strongest.
Big Mom still has a goal to achieve as she wants to attain peace in her own way, and she can pursue that without being a pirate and live a happy life which she certainly deserves.
5
Kaido (If Alive)
Crew: Beast Pirates
Just like Big Mom, Kaido’s fate remains unknown, and while the chances of him being dead are very high, it is possible that he did end up surviving. In case Kaido is alive, then he’s certainly one of the characters who should retire from being a pirate.
Kaido’s entire life was ruled by the idea of him being the strongest. Now that he has been defeated and he gained fulfillment from the fact that Joyboy was the one who beat him, it is time for him to retire from fighting altogether and do something else with his life.
4
Marco
Crew: Whitebeard Pirates (Formerly)
Also known as the Phoenix, Marco has been in many battles and eluded death In every single one of them. He fought the Paramount War with Whitebeard as the doctor and the leader of the First Division of the Whitebeard Pirates, and later down the line, the Onigashima war with Luffy.

Marco is a battle-hardened character and there is no doubt in that. He will likely go on to fight more battles in the future. However, Marco has lost too much and he deserves peace with the people of Sphinx Island, which he loves way too much.
3
Gecko Moria
Crew: Thriller Bark Pirates
Gecko Mori was once a force to be reckoned with. Later down the line, he ended up becoming lazy, and this is when he got out of shape as fans saw in the Thriller Bark Arc. Moria was seen once again after the timeskip, and he ended up being imprisoned by Blackbeard.
He was later freed when Garp invaded the Pirate Island. It is unknown where he is currently, however, if he did end up surviving, then he should simply hang his boots up as a pirate and enjoy life in a secluded place somewhere.
2
Apoo
Crew: On Air Pirates
Apple is one of the failures of the Worst Generation who couldn’t make his mark on the era. He allied with Kaido once and ended up on the losing side in the Onigashima War. Apoo is quite an interesting character, but overall, he is never going to be significant in the story in major ways.
For a character such as him, it is time to simply call it quits and stop being a pirate.
1
Kuzan
Crew: Blackbeard Pirates
Kuzan is a former marine turned pirate who serves as the 10th Titanic Captain of the Blackbeard Pirates. He is quite a powerful individual, and it goes without saying that he holds tremendous strength up his sleeve.
Kuzan might be a pirate right now, but this life doesn’t suit him. At his core, Kuzan was always kind and fans have seen that on many occasions. For him to be serving Blackbeard just doesn’t sit right. Kuzan should retire as a pirate and find his own path.
