The competition is fierce, especially when factoring in all the game-changing elements players have at their disposal.

While the game’s Shard Card system may take some getting used to, one thing that players may adjust to rather quickly is the game’s roster of characters, also known as Lancers. Lancers offer a diverse range of skills, each catering to different playstyles and capable of shifting the tide of battle. Here is a deep dive into Lancers in FragPunk, from what they are to all of their abilities.

FragPunk – PC Global Launch Cinematic Trailer

To celebrate the global launch of the PC version of FragPunk, a new cinematic CG trailer gives fans another look at the game’s world and characters.

What Are Lancers In FragPunk?

Lancers are the unique characters that players can play as in FragPunk. Each Lancer has their very own set of unique abilities known as Skills, with some specializing in defense, healing, or offense. During a game, players can select their desired Lancer during the rule-making and preparation phases before a round begins. Players can also change their Lancer during these phases in subsequent rounds if they wish, but they will be unable to switch characters once a round has started.

Typically, only one player can play a particular Lancer at a time, meaning that more often than not, if a player chooses a Lancer, other players will be unable to select that same Lancer as their own. However, there are exceptions to this rule, such as when the Clone Tech Shard Card is in play.

How To Unlock Lancers In FragPunk

While players will have access to a roster of characters right from the start, additional Lancers will need to be unlocked. To unlock Lancers, players must purchase them using either Gold or FragPunk Coins. The Gold price for individual Lancers is 18,888 Gold, and since Gold can be earned for free, this serves as the free method of unlocking them.

Alternatively, players can purchase Lancers for 488 FragPunk Coins. FragPunk Coins are the game’s premium currency, which can be:

  • Purchased via the Store using real money
  • Earned through the Battle Pass
  • Received as a reward for Annual/Monthly Membership owners
