Ajarakan has a wide variety of attacks that players must learn and memorize if they hope to defeat the Fanged Beast. On top of that, the monster also has an Ignited Phase, where some of its attacks gain additional fire damage and AOE. The monster can also inflict Fireblight and Blastblight status ailments. Bringing Nulberry

and Deodorant

to the fight can help counteract these status effects.

You can use Chillmantle Bugs from the environment to counteract the Heat Effect, which lowers your maximum health.

Here are all of Ajarakan’s attacks in Monster Hunter Wilds:

  • Ground Punch

The Ajarakan will punch the ground twice with each of its fists. Dodging this attack is fairly easy, or you can counter it with a guard or parry. The monster can also punch only once. When ignited, the attack creates lava explosions where the punches land.

  • Shoulder Slam

The monster rises up with one shoulder and slams it down quickly. From the ground, it bashes forward with the shoulder and charges upward. When in its Ignited Phase, Ajarakan also creates a flaming pool in front of it as the charge ends. This attack can be guarded, but it’s safer to dodge sideways to prevent unnecessary damage.

  • Rock Toss

The Ajarakan digs into the ground with its claws and throws two flaming boulders toward the hunter, one after another. The projectiles have poor tracking, and you should be able to dodge them easily. During its ignited phase, the Ajarakan hurls lava instead.

  • Tail Slam

The Ajarakan can also attack with its tail, slamming it down on the hunter if you stand near its back. Dodge sideways to avoid it, or counter it if you’re using the Switch Axe. Cutting off its tail gets rid of this attack.

  • Ground Slam

The Ajarakan rises up and slams both of its fists down on the ground, causing huge AOE damage. You’ll have to act quickly and either get to the monster’s back or out of range to avoid taking damage.

  • Lava Charge-Up

During the battle, the Ajarakan will dig its claws into the ground and start heating up. This is when it enters its Ignited Phase, empowering its attacks. You can keep attacking during the transformation to try and create wounds on its weak parts.

  • Lava Slam

During its Ignited Phase, the Ajarakan slams its claws down, creating a massive explosion of lava in front of it. When going for this attack, the monster will pound its back with its tail twice and start glowing brighter. You can get behind the beast to attack safely without worrying about getting hit.

  • Ground Roll & Slam

Another move that happens during its Ignited Phase. The Ajarakan pounds the ground and starts violently rolling on the spot. Afterward, it jumps up and slams down. Back away to safety to avoid getting hit. This move gives you a big opening to deal damage since the monster takes a while to recover afterward.

  • Dive Attack

In certain environments, the Ajarakan can jump up and hang from the ceiling. It can also move while hanging. After a while, the monster dives toward the ground, causing AOE damage. Whenever you see the Ajarakan jump up, prepare to dodge.
