A Prize Held High Trophy Guide
While the Curioshell Crab can actually be found in all five of the various open zones of Monster Hunter Wilds, we managed to find it pretty easily in the Scarlet Forest, specifically near the Area 6 Pop-Up Campsite, Flowering Rocks Tent.
You don’t need to set up the camp (if you don’t have an extra slot), but if you face away from the campsite (looking north) and then walk towards the small body of water, you might spot a Curioshell Crab scurrying around.
To find the Capture Net, hold down L1/LB and scroll through your items. Press Square/X to equip the net, hold R2/RT to ready it, and hit R2/RT to fire. Sometimes, Alma will comment if she spots a peculiar creature, so be sure to listen to her. In our game, she said, “Is that creature holding something?” and referred to the crawling Curioshell Crab.
It seems that you can also find Curioshell Crabs near the campsite underneath the oasis in Area 14 of the Windward Plains. Another spot is near the fishing point in Area 8 of Scarlet Forest.
If you manage to successfully catch the Crab, not only will its information be added to your Endmemic Life Field Guide, but you should also get an Ancient Wyvern Coin.
Finding Curioshell Crabs is a great method for farming Ancient Wyvern Coins, which can be traded to Gawdygog in the Wudwud Hideout in Scarlet Forest, giving you special items like Armor Spheres
and Melding Tickets in exchange.
