Where To Find Dragonbone Relic In Monster Hunter Wilds

There are just so many materials in Monster Hunter Wilds. The vast majority will come from the monsters you hunt, but the world is teeming with gathering points for you to find copious materials you just can’t find anywhere else. These are just as essential as those dropped by monsters, but can at times be considerably harder to find.

There are a lot of bones you can find in the game, from Hardbones to Collosal Bones. But the Dragonbone Relic is as rare as them come, and can only be found in select locations. It’s used in a few pieces of equipment too, so you’ll want to get searching for it as soon as you can. Here’s where to find it.

How To Get Dragonbone Relics

The Dragonbone Relic is a pile of bones, meaning you can only get them from bonepiles. They are not strictly locked to any area either, though they are most commonly found in the Windward Plains. Also, while they can be gathered from any bonepile, the Blackened Fossil bonepiles have the highest chance of dropping them.

One such fossil can be found in the Bone Desert of the Windward Plains, though they are present in just about every region in the game. Bonepiles do have a 15 minute cooldown before they refresh, however, so try to circle through every region while farming so that the bonepiles have time to refill before you get back around to them.

There are a few tips and strategies you can follow to speed up the process though. As always, try to search primarily during the Plenty, as this makes almost every gathering point more bountiful. If you ever see sparkles around a bonepile, then there is a much higher chance of higher quality items, such as the Dragonbone Relic, dropping.

Your Palico is also a great help in this regard. While they may not collect from special spots like Blackened Fossils, they will from regular bonepiles. Your Palico gathering items doesn’t reduce the number of times you can gather, either, so it’s always worth letting them go ahead of you to increase the chance of getting a Dragonbone Relic.

You can always check your own and your Palico’s Field Pouch from the menu to see if you’ve picked up the item you’re looking for yet.

Another great piece you can use to your advantage is the Azuz set, specifically the pants. These will offer a maxed-out Geologist skill, which will give you more items every time you collect from a gathering point, giving you a much higher chance of picking up more Dragonbone Relics. If you want to boost your chances even further, make sure to eat a meal with Truffle du Conga beforehand for a similar, stacked effect.

While it may take some time, you should eventually get your hands on a hefty number of Dragonbone Relics. Now that you have them all though, what are you going to use them for? Well, new equipment of course!

Dragonbone Relics don’t have an associated set in which they are exclusively used, but rather they are a rare material that is used in many different pieces of armour and weapons. For example, it is used to create the arms of the Artian set, as well as the Rarity 8 Bone weapons. It’s a diverse material that you’ll never know when you’ll end up needing, so it’s worth stockpiling early on.
