There are many useful materials that players will need to get their hands on in Monster Hunter Wilds. Some of these will be gathered while traveling through the game’s world. Others will be collected as drops when defeating monsters. In the case of Charred Oilbone, it’s both.

Players will not be able to start picking these bones up while they are in the Windward Planes. Players will need to progress through the story of the game until they have reached the Oilwell Basin, which will be the area after players have entered the Scarlet Forest.

Players can get many different materials from bonepiles depending on where they are. Players will progress through the game until they can freely explore the Oilwell Basin area. Once players are able to, they can mount their trust Seikret and open up their map. Once they see a bonepile, they simply need to mark it as their destination and their Seikret will immediately start running to that spot. Players can also use their grapple to grab up any other items they may pass along the way.

Seikrets are more than just mounts, they allow players to swap their weapons, and players can attack while chasing a monster that is relocating. This makes them one of the best supports in the game.

Where Does Charred Oilbone Drop in Monster Hunter Wilds?

Monster Hunter Wilds Kranodath

Charred Oilbones aren’t just gathered, they can also be obtained as drops from defeating Kranodath. Players are not guaranteed bones this way, but they can do this hunt while they wait for all the bonepiles they raised to replenish. Players will need to continue to progress through the game’s Oilwell Basin area to add the “Talk about Hard Headed” quest to their list of optional hunts. In addition to Charred OIlbones, these monsters are also a source of Sharp Fangs.

Players will also get Charred Oilbones as Quest Rewards when they hunt this monster as part of the story.

The Oilwell Basin will be a real challenge for players, as the only armor they will have access to with fire resistance will be the QUematrice Armor. While this is an amazing piece of early game armor, its defensive stats by this point are abysmal compared to those of higher rarity.

Charred Oilbones will be used for crafting various pieces of gear. Luckily, the gear they will be focusing on the most will not come into effect until players have made it to High Rank. Players should still make it a habit to search all material points they pass to always stay stocked up on the things they need when they need them. Otherwise, it turns into a matter of grinding and waiting.
