Although Starfield might not have been the generational game on the level of Skyrim like both Bethesda and Xbox hoped it would be, it still did very well when it came to player response. There’s quite a dedicated Starfield community out there, and they’re all waiting to see how their already massive game might get bigger.
Last year saw an answer to that question with the Shattered Space expansion, but it’s fair to say that most players weren’t too impressed with it. Even still, fans have wondered what might be in store next for Starfield, and whether we’re going to be getting an expansion of the same size any time soon.
Starfield Devs Share An Update On The Game’s Future
Over on Twitter, the official Starfield Twitter account replied to a question from a fan who asked for some news on the game’s future, whether that’s an update or another piece of DLC. While I’m sure the Starfield socials get a lot of questions like these all the time, it strangely decided to give a rather honest answer about it all.
In response to the question, the Starfield account noted that it knows the community is “eager for an update” and that the team appreciates the passion. That same team has also been “hard at work” on developing the game further, something that it’s not ready to share specific details on as of the time of writing.

That being said, the account did say that what’s being worked on right now is “exciting” and seemingly planned to release at some point in 2025. Sadly, that doesn’t make it much clearer whether we can expect a full-blown DLC or expansion or just some more updates to the game, but we do know that more Starfield something is coming in the future.
