All Levels In Split Fiction (Chapter List)

Split Fiction features various major chapter/levels that are further broken down into smaller sublevels, here’s a complete list for them all.

How to Start the Train Heist Side Story in Split Fiction

Players can start the Train Heist side story in the Lord Evergreen sublevel of the Hopes of Spring chapter in Split Fiction. The side story orb can be found inside a metal compartment at the end of the piranha’s section.

You’ll need to use the grappling hook to start wall running on the left wall, then switch to the wall on the right, and finally grappling onto the main platform. It’ll take some time for players to complete this side story, considering the tricky boss fight in the end.

Reaching the Runaway Train

Players start off the Train Heist side story by flying through the air in jetpack-powered wingsuits. After soaring for a while, a robotic orb will burst through the dam on the left and leave a trail of mines behind. You’ll need to dodge the mines carefully while continuing to fly inside and out of narrow spaces.

After dodging the mines, the robotic orb will enter a facility, and you’ll need to follow it through the hatch next to it. It’ll turn out to be a subway tunnel requiring players to dodge incoming trains. After dodging a few initial trains, you’ll need to dive down and fly underneath the tracks until you emerge over the sea.

Move closer to the train while dodging some more mines to finally grapple onto it and start water-skiing. Now, you’ll be required to dodge falling obstacles, as well as bullets from the robotic orb in the sky. Once the sequence ends, you’ll be sent back up into the air, eventually landing on top of the train.

Now, players will need to avoid falling down from the rotating train carriages as they move forward. At the end of the train, Mio and Zoe will commandeer two small ships and go up in the sky to battle the giant robotic orb.

The Conductor Boss Fight

Split Fiction Train Heist The Conductor Boss Fight

The giant robotic orb is called “The Conductor,” and this sequence of the train heist will quickly turn into the Galaga. The ships can move in four two-dimensional locations and dodge patterns of bullets unleashed by the boss.

During the span of the boss fight, you’ll also get a variety of random power-ups.

  • The multi-shot ability allows players to shoot multiple lines of bullets at The Conductor.
  • A powerful unibeam power-up allows players to unleash a beam of energy at the boss.
  • The homing bullet upgrade will allow all the bullets to hone in on the boss, regardless of your position.

During the fight, the boss will change up its attacks and randomly lunge forward at the ships, instantly destroying them on contact. So it’s best that you avoid this attack by quickly moving out of its way. At the last segment of the Conductor’s health, it’ll constantly start moving diagonally across the screen, which can be difficult to deal with.

This phase will require you to keep moving in all directions to avoid getting hit while damaging the boss. After the boss fight, the Train Heist Side Story will conclude, pushing players back into the Hopes of Spring level of Split Fiction.
