Just days after the Nintendo Switch version of Stardew Valley received a patch, it’s already gotten a new one. Developer ConcernedApe has been hard at work making sure Stardew Valley works as intended, and has now announced the new release to fans on the Nintendo console.
Stardew Valley has gone so much further in its development than originally planned that fans may be used to getting unexpected updates at this point. However, the last few releases that have come out have all been intended to fix issues found in the game following the big 1.6 Stardew Valley update. Unfortunately, while the last patch for Stardew Valley on Switch fixed some errors, it also opened up some new ones.

On February 28, ConcernedApe announced that some crashes and text bugs had appeared after the 1.6.15.1 Stardew Valley Nintendo Switch patch, and that the team was actively working on a fix. Less than a week later on March 5, he announced that the new patch was officially out, and that it should fix the issues that arose previously. Players who had been avoiding artifact troves, the Adventurer’s Guild, or had simply encountered odd garbled text should be able to play normally once they download and apply the new patch.
Stardew Valley Fans Thank Developer
ConcernedApe noted he was “ashamed” to discover the problems that arose in prior patch. The Nintendo Switch version of the game has had some ongoing problems that have been gradually fixed, with the prior patch repairing the issue where every gift was loved by Stardew Valley villagers. While the new bugs introduced could be frustrating, by and large, the Stardew Valley game community seems to be extremely thankful to its developer and his continued support for the game. Many fans have responded to the official tweet, sharing appreciation for his efforts.
What exactly the future holds for Stardew Valley isn’t clear at this time. ConcernedApe has regularly updated fans on the progress of his next game Haunted Chocolatier, but has also gone on to release new updates for Stardew Valley after the fact. While it’s clear that he still intends to create the new title, it may be quite some time before it’s officially ready to reach expectant fans. While this may disappoint some, considering that the delay is due to the developer’s continued free updates and dedication to his first game and its fans, and to deliver the best possible experience when Haunted Chocolatier does actually launch, it seems most players don’t see any reason to criticize.
