We want to preface this by saying all five Ultimate Weapon Sets in Final Fantasy 14 look incredible, especially when animated. Still, some just lack that extra ‘oomph’ that the others have, making them fall slightly short.

That’s the case with The Unending Coil of Bahamut Ultimate Weapons, which has a really lovely jet black and bright gold color scheme. It is accompanied by small orange and red strobes that pop off each weapon like an explosion.
Overall, this Ultimate Raid Weapon Set is fantastic and was highly coveted when it was introduced as the game’s first Ultimate Raid Reward, but it pales in comparison to all the others by the smallest of margins.

Being the first Ultimate Raid Weapon Set in the Endwalker expansion, everyone was eagerly waiting to see what the new Dragonsong’s Reprise Ultimate would be and if the weapons would be worth grinding to obtain.
The color scheme is stunning, with deep oranges and reds that are further highlighted by the deep shades of black covering some areas of each weapon. Furthermore, the crepuscular rays surrounding each armament make it pop on your character when moving throughout the world.
However, our biggest gripe with these weapons is their actual designs. While some Jobs have excellent armaments, the majority fall flat and cannot be saved by the gorgeous color scheme and animations.

Next up is the latest Omega Protocol Ultimate Raid Weapons, which is the second Ultimate Raid in the Endwalker expansion. This may be shocking to a few of you, as these weapons do look rather sick for the most part.

The black, white, and purple color scheme is phenomenal. It is only enhanced by the wavey and glitchy animation style that overtakes each weapon, giving it an ominous and cool look whenever it happens.
Unfortunately, before the purple and black color scheme can pop on the weapon, you are left with a plain white and black armament that looks very underwhelming, making us wish it always had the purple elements on it all the time. For this, we decided to knock it down a tier.

Future’s Rewritten is the latest Ultimate Raid introduced in Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail, featuring some of the best Ultimate Weapons you could ask for with the Edenmorn Weaponset. While many of them look downright stunning, some miss the mark entirely, which does knock it a few pegs down.
Like most Ultimate Weapons, they look substantially better in motion, as the icy blue and bright whites transform into a much darker shade while glistening lights dance around the surface of the weapon. There are also feathers that move around the base of the weapons that help elevate things even further.
If every weapon was a homerun, this would easily take the number one spot, but some just don’t look all that great, even in action, which places it a bit lower. Still, being in the top three isn’t bad in the slightest, and it is worth grinding for if you have the time, patience, and execution required!

Our penultimate pick is The Weapon’s Refrain Ultimate Weapons, the second set of Ultimate Weapons introduced into Final Fantasy 14. While these are arguably the easiest Ultimate Weapons you can obtain in the game, they still look incredibly cool.

There are lots of difficult trials in FF14. These are some of the toughest.
The Weapon’s Refrain Weapon Set sports an almost icey look, thanks to their light blues and deep black shading, which is only elevated by the dark blue and ethereal animations surrounding them. These weapons look incredible in motion.
Additionally, each weapon has a sick design, making it stand on its own even without all the fancy animations and colors. These genuinely fantastic armaments hold up after all these years, making us firmly place them near the top!

Last but certainly not least is The Epic of Alexander’s Ultimate Weapons, which are simply the best in the game and will be very hard to replace. As a reward for taking down Perfect Alexander, each weapon’s machine-like style looks breathtaking in action.
The cosmic purple hue that illuminates the gold, black, and white color scheme is phenomenal, driving home how rare and unique each armament from this set is. These weapons are all the best of the best, making them highly sought after even today.
And, much like The Weapon’s Refain Weapon Set, each weapon has a tremendously excellent and robust design, making them pop even without the animation. There is no universe where we wouldn’t place this at the top of the list. Like, come on, just LOOK at these designs!
