What I like best about Robocop Rogue City is how it functions as a kind of ‘anti FPS.’ Normally in shooters, as well as doling out the punishment, you’ve got to move fast and make use of cover, but in Rogue City, you’re literally Robocop. There is a health bar and you can die, but the dynamic is completely flipped – imagine a dungeon raid in an RPG, or an endgame boss fight, except you’re the boss. One of the biggest sleeper hits in Steam history, after more than a year of silence, Robocop Rogue City is finally back with a new expansion, the aptly titled Unfinished Business.
Set between Robocop 2 and Robocop 3, Rogue City casts you as the eponymous cyborg police officer, patrolling the streets of dystopian Detroit. An enigmatic ‘New Guy’ has arrived in the city, threatening to disrupt the established order of gun-toting cops and anarchic criminals. It’s big, it looks great, and the combat has a terrific, slow rhythm.
The defining moment in Robocop Rogue City is when you arrive at a crime scene, and all your fellow officers are taking shelter behind their cars. The crooks have taken hostages and rigged the building with explosives – but you just grab an M60, smash the front wall down with your fist, and shoot them all, from the hip, while their bullets bounce off you. It’s an FPS game where brute force works best.
And now Rogue City is back. As revealed at Nacon Connect, Unfinished Business is a new DLC pack that delivers an extra, standalone story and campaign to Rogue City proper. Built by OCP, the OmniTower has been taken over by mercenaries who now control the enormous skyscraper from top to bottom. As you fight your way from floor to floor, you’ll also play through flashbacks from Robocop’s pre-metallic past, making Unfinished Business the first game where you control a fully human Alex Murphy.

Robocop Rogue City: Unfinished Business is slated for release in summer 2025. Meanwhile, if you haven’t tried it yet and want to give it a shot, you can get the original game right here.
