A recent leak has seemingly revealed a first look at the new LEGO Mario Kart set thought to release sometime in 2025, and the set is also rumored to be massive. The current Mario Kart game on the market is still the eighth installment, released over a decade ago, and Nintendo has partnered with LEGO on several occasions to give the racers of the franchise a blocky makeover for fans to build as keepsakes. However, with Mario Kart 9 looming, LEGO might be about to deliver a grand set to remember.

Nintendo and LEGO previously released Mario Kart sets back in January 2025, alongside new Animal Crossing sets starring Celeste, Leif, and the Able Sisters. The Mario Kart sets included several racers, such as Baby Mario, Donkey Kong, and Baby Peach, vehicles, and other features like a Pit Crew Toad minifigure.

Rumors of a gigantic Mario Kart LEGO set surfaced earlier in February 2025, and some of the leaked details tease that this set may be the big one. According to the leaked details, the Mario Kart set will include 1972 pieces, cost an eye-watering $169.99, and is thought to be released on May 1, 2025.

Massive LEGO Mario Kart Set Seemingly Leaks With Price and Release Date Details

Mario Kart fans immediately deemed this set number one on their want list, but some were disappointed that LEGO keeps skirting around the release of minifigures. Additionally, some comments highlighted that this leak may also be AI in an attempt to temper expectations. Piggybacking on the success of previous products, Mario Kart fans believed a new LEGO Racers game would fill the void during the wait for a new Mario Kart game, but thanks to the recent Nintendo Switch 2 hype, players’ patience is about to be rewarded.
