Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has two huge maps for players to explore, and while running around on foot is an option, it’s not a good one. Not only will Henry’s shoes always need to be repaired, it will take a long time to get anywhere, and you’ll need to sleep more often before actually doing the things you’re trying to get to.
You can get your horse back early into the game, with there also being a few other options for getting horses right away to help you start getting around fast. Here’s how to call and generally use your horse once you have one.

How To Call Your Horse In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
You can only have one horse at a time, and after getting your first horse, it will be ready to be called whenever you want. To call your horse:
- PlayStation – Press Triangle
- Xbox – Press Y
- PC – Press X
Holding down any of these buttons will instead call Mutt if you’ve found him. Calling for your horse will have it come up from behind you, so turn around after whistling. If your horse is nearby, it will instead run over to you instead of spawning behind you. It doesn’t matter where you leave your horse, you can whistle for it anywhere outdoors and it will come running to you instantly.
Whistling with the above buttons can also be used in stealth to get someone’s attention.

How To Ride Your Horse In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Once you have summoned your horse, approach it and press the following buttons to mount it:
- PlayStation – X
- Xbox – A
- PC – E
While on your horse, what is normally the enemy’s health bar is now your horse’s stamina bar. Once it depletes, or you stop sprinting, that bar will regenerate quickly, and it can get moving again. There is no penalty for running the stamina bar down to empty every time. You can make your horse sprint by spurring it on with:
- PlayStation – Press R3
- Xbox – Press Right Joystick
- PC – L Shift
When you spur your horse on a small yellow line will appear below its stamina bar and slightly fill up. Should you spur your horse too many times and that yellow bar fills up, and you keep going, it will buck you off. While riding, you’ll need to find a balance between spurring the horse on but not too much, while also managing its stamina. Riding your horse gives you XP in Horsemanship, which offers perks that make riding a lot easier.
