How To Make All Moon Market Potions In Split Fiction

Moon Market is one of many unique side stories in Hazelight’s Split Fiction, and it is definitely the most magical. After stepping aboard an ethereal boat helmed by a duo of moonlit felines, Mio and Zoe find themselves walking towards a snow-drenched cathedral in pursuit of their goal.

But before stepping past the gate and towards the cathedral itself, you will need to solve all the puzzles surrounding the market and play around with an array of magic distractions that includes a cauldron used to make potions that transform you into a variety of things. Unless you know where to look, the game doesn’t explain how to make them, so here’s how.

Where To Find The Moon Market Cauldron

Zoe and Mio greet a ghost cat at the moon market entrance in Split Fiction.

After stepping foot off the ethereal cat boat mentioned earlier, you will arrive at an entrance filled with pumpkin cat sculptures and cobblestone walls. Keep moving forward until Zoe has encountered and befriended a small feline sitting on the ground. You will need them to open the gate and enter the courtyard.

Walk forward a bit more and the cat will grant you access by flying into the cat-shaped crest on the golden gate. Now you have full access to the magical courtyard. The cauldron sits on the right parallel to the fish fountain in the centre of the area. Head there to start brewing.

How To Make All The Moon Market Potions

Mio rides a snail throughout the moon market in Split Fiction.

The courtyard is occupied by a bunch of friendly mole people wearing fancy hats, and snails you can jump on and ride very slowly about the place. But our focus is on the cauldron and all the individual ingredients surrounding it, which, when combined, can turn Zoe or Mio into several different things.

None of these transformations have any particular mechanical role; they’re just for fun and will also bag you a trophy once you try out all the different combinations. The ingredients are as follows: a purple-esque pointed vegetable, a white sea-urchin-like object, and a lush yellow flower.

Trumpet Potion

Mio turns into a trumpet creature after drinking a potion in Split Fiction.

In order to turn your head into a trumpet that toots about the place, you will need to combine one of the white, spiky sea urchins with the yellow flower on the right-hand side.

Insert both into the cauldron, and you will be rewarded with the right potion. Sip it down and your head now resembles a musical instrument.

The effects of each potion will wear off eventually, or be replaced with another effect if you drink another potion with time to spare.

Storm Cloud Potion

Zoe turns into a storm cloud after drinking a potion in Split Fiction.

To become a storm cloud that can rain water down on the local mole people, you will need to mix together one of the purple, vegetable-esque items with the white spiky sea urchin.

You’re not even a living creature after drinking this potion, but a cloud that floats about the place.

Ball Of Yarn Potion

Mio transforms and rolls around as a ball of yarn in Split Fiction.

Ever want to roll around the big wide world like a giant ball of yarn for cats to play with? It is a fantasy that Split Fiction allows you to experience with this next potion. To make it come true, you need to mix together two of the purple vegetable ingredients on the right side of the cauldron. Now you can unfurl yourself around the courtyard.

Most of these transformations allow Zoe and Mio to mess with each other in a variety of ways, so take your time and have some fun with it.

Mystery Potion

Zoe and Mio transform into one another after drinking potions in Split Fiction.

The ingredient board beside the cauldron doesn’t disclose what this potion does, so you will need to make it yourself to find out. It can be made by combining two of the white, spiky sea urchins.

Drink it down and Mio will turn into Zoe, and vice versa. While this doesn’t do anything aside from changing your appearance, it does result in a few nuggets of fun dialogue.

Cat Potion

The player transforms into a cat pumpkin after drinking a potion in Split Fiction.

Despite the name suggesting this potion will turn into a cat, the end result is more of a cat-shaped pumpkin that fires sweets from its gaping maw. But it’s still cute, and can be made possible by mixing together a purple vegetable and yellow flower.

Mushroom Potion

The player transforms into a mushroom man after drinking a potion in Split Fiction.

For the final potion, you will need to mix together two of the yellow flowers to turn into a stout little mushroom man. He doesn’t do much but run about the place causing mischief, but that is adorable enough in its own right.
