How To Start Something Rotten Quest
In order to trigger the Something Rotten quest, you must first complete the Magic Arrow quest and then wait several days before you can begin it.
Afterward, head to the tavern in Grund and find Innkeeper Grosch, who will be wearing red. Speak to him and select the ‘How goes it?‘ option so he will tell you about the bandit camp causing trouble.
Be sure to agree to help him to start the Something Rotten quest.
How To Kill Eggman
Your objective here is to kill Eggman in the bandit camp located just northwest of Grund, and there are three ways to do so:
- You can simply waltz in and slay every soldier there, including him.
- You can do it at night and stealthily kill everyone without being noticed.
- Alternatively, you can use the Strong Bane Poison that the Innkeeper gave you and pour it into the cooking pot at the center of the camp. If you choose this method, leave the map, wait half a day, and Eggman should be dead.
How To Complete Something Rotten Quest
Whatever option you choose to kill Eggman, you will need to provide proof that you did it by taking Eggman’s hat. This can be found on his corpse or in his chest near the cooking pot.
Once that’s done, head back to Grund and speak to Innkeeper Grosch, show him the proof and after the conversation the Something Rotten quest will be complete.
