There are three main resources in Ranch Simulator: wood planks, metal, and concrete. The most important and the one you’ll need most is wood plank. Luckily, the ranch you inherited has plenty of trees, meaning you’ll have a good amount of wood planks at first.

However, you’ll soon realize that this process becomes tedious. The reason for this is constantly hauling logs and planks over distances. Also, wild trees are far apart, making the process frustrating. So, why not plant your own trees? You’ll save yourself trouble and make work easier.

Why Should You Plant Trees?

Planting trees in Ranch Simulator is quite inexpensive and easy. Since wood planks are one of the most frequently used resources in the game, the trees around your ranch will gradually disappear. For this reason, you should plant new trees to maintain a continuous supply.

Otherwise, constantly cutting trees from faraway areas and transporting them back to your ranch can become exhausting. The best thing to do is to plant trees in the most actively used area of your ranch.

Tools & Materials You Need

The first thing you need to do to plant trees is to buy a shovel from the Hardware Store. You can buy the shovel for 50 dollars, and it will be added to your usable tools. With the shovel, you can dig the soil. The shovel is only used for planting trees, and after 100 uses, it will break, so you’ll need to purchase a new one. This provides a fairly long usage time.

Next, you’ll need to buy tree seedlings from the General Store. Each seedling costs ten dollars, which is very cheap. Buying around ten seedlings at the start will be beneficial, and after that, you probably won’t need to buy more.

How To Plant Trees

While digging the soil with the shovel, make sure to plant the trees in an area you use the most at your ranch. This way, you won’t have to walk long distances, saving time. When you dig the soil, mounds will appear, and you can interact with these mounds to plant the tree seedlings you bought.

After planting, you can check the seedlings to see a growth percentage. Once it reaches 100 percent, the tree will be ready to cut. You don’t need to do anything while they grow — just wait.

The best part of growing trees is that you won’t need to deal with long trips anymore, as the trees near your ranch will gradually disappear over time. Another great advantage is that you won’t need to buy tree saplings again.

After cutting down the trees you planted, they will drop tree saplings. By planting these new saplings, you can create an infinite tree cycle. Note that only the trees you plant will drop saplings — wild trees will not drop saplings.

It’s a good idea to place your table saw near the trees you plant, and also build two log racks nearby. You can store the logs you cut in one rack and place the processed wood planks in the other. This helps you keep everything organized.

If you want to speed up your wood processing even further, you should definitely purchase the Luxury Table Saw from the Hardware Store for 750 dollars.
