Tingyun Traces Overview And Priority

Tingyun performing her Soothing Melody Skill with her Bells and Tie Shan in Honkai: Star Rail.

Lastly, we have Tingyun’s Traces, which can significantly enhance her Skills and Ultimate during combat, making her one of the best support characters in the game due to her ability to turn DPS-focused characters into what essentially is a nuke.

Like every character, Tingyun has many Traces, but the ones listed below are the most crucial ones you should focus on when starting out if you want to get the most out of her as early as possible. While these aren’t all the Traces she has to offer, they are the most essential!

Soothing Melody

Soothing Melody is Tingyun’s Skill Action, enabling her to bless her target with Benediction for three turns, drastically increasing their Attack by 25 (Level 1) to 62.5 percent (Level 15).

When under the effects of Benediction, the first attack will also deal an additional 20 to 50 percent Lightning Damage, making it excel against opponents who are weak to that element. This will be your primary focus, as you constantly cast Soothing Melody throughout most battles.

Amidst The Rejoicing Clouds

Tingyun’s Ultimate, Amidst the Rejoicing Clouds, may very well be the best one in the game, as it can turn already potent DPS characters, like Seele, into nukes that have the potential to take off large chunks of HP with one move, or even insta-kill them.

When casting Amidst the Rejoicing Clouds on a party member, they will instantly gain 50 Energy, bringing them closer to their Ultimate or activating it for them, which is tremendously valuable but not the Ultimate’s best feature.

The best feature of upgrading this Ultimate is its ability to grant your target a whopping 20 (Level 1) to 65 percent (Level 15) increase to their overall damage for two turns. You know how we mentioned earlier that Tingyun could turn some characters into what essentially is a nuke? This is why.

Pairing Tingyun’s Ultimate with the previously covered Relics, Ornaments, and Light Cones will make for a disgusting set of buffs you can apply to a party member, making them a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.

Overall, all of Tingyun’s Traces offer excellent buffs and bonuses that should be acquired, so unlock all of them as you see fit and as they become available to you. When it comes to upgrading them, however, we recommend focusing on these first, as they offer the best results.

Nonetheless, when used properly, Tingyun still has the potential to be a potent and outstanding party member.

We will cover everything from her best overall team composition to the best Free-to-Play one and many more, showcasing her excellent ability to supply her teammates with tremendously strong buffs that can have them dominate nearly every encounter!
