Astro Bot Update Adds New DLC Level

Astro Bot has released a new update containing the Hard to Bear level and a special nod to The Order: 1886. Earlier in February, Astro Bot announced the launch of several DLC levels, with the last one scheduled for mid-March.

Since its release in September 2024, Team Asobi’s hit game Astro Bot has won multiple Game of the Year awards and reached several impressive sales milestones. Just two months after its launch, Astro Bot had sold an impressive 1.5 million copies globally. The game’s popularity hasn’t decreased in 2025, either, as Team Asobi released weekly free DLC levels during February and March. Now, Astro Bot‘s latest update not only introduces a new challenge but a nod to an iconic PlayStation 4 title as well.

On March 6, Astro Bot launched its 1.015 update with a new DLC level titled “Hard to Bear.” The file download size is 390MB and the Hard to Bear challenge has players overcome obstacles in a castle-like world. Completing the level will grant players the “Bearly Rescued” trophy, as well as the opportunity to rescue a new bot. Surprisingly, the new level features the bot form of Sir Galahad, the protagonist of The Order: 1886. As spotted by Twitter user realradec, the adorable Sir Galahad bot comes with his signature goatee and uniform. The character is now part of the long list of cameo bots featured in Astro Bot.

Astro Bot Releases Hard to Bear Level and The Order: 1886’s Sir Galahad Bot

Released in 2015, The Order: 1886 is a story-rich action game from Ready at Dawn set in the Victorian era. The game was distributed by Sony as a PlayStation 4 exclusive and, while it gained mixed reviews from the public, it still became quite popular among many players. Ready at Dawn recently revealed that The Order: 1886 could have received a sequel, but Sony declined the pitch. However, now that Astro Bot has paid homage to its protagonist, players might be glad to know that The Order: 1886 is not completely forgotten. It’s also not the first time that a PlayStation title honors Sir Galahad, as he was also added in Little Big Planet 3.

The final free Astro Bot DLC level is scheduled to release on March 13 at 6:00 am PT. Once all the extra levels are completed, players will have access to a Time Attack game mode with Online Rankings. Astro Bot was recently nominated for the BAFTA Game Awards 2025 in multiple categories, including Animation, Music, and Best Game. Whether Astro Bot manages to snag yet another GOTY award remains to be seen.
