In Dragon Ball Super, the Gods of Destruction are the destructive counterparts of the Supreme Kais and, as such, are all incredibly powerful. Generally speaking, a God of Destruction is the second-strongest being in their respective universe, topped only by the Angel who mentors them. Now the question is, who is the strongest God of Destruction out of all the twelve?
Since they are often the strongest in their universe, it’s not often that you get to see a God of Destruction fight or even exert that much effort into anything. This makes it difficult to determine what exactly each of their upper limits is. However, if you observe the few times they have fought and look back at some of the statements made throughout the series, you can comfortably conclude who the strongest is.

Beerus Is the Strongest God of Destruction
Cats Are the Most Destructive Creatures to Be Fair
Beerus, the cat-like deity from Universe 7, is the strongest God of Destruction. There are a few pieces of evidence to support this. The first is the fact that he fought all the other Gods of Destruction at once in the manga during the Zeno Expo. In the anime, the Zeno Expo was a series of exhibition matches between Universe 9 and 7, but in the manga, it was a battle royale between all twelve Gods of Destruction. At the beginning of the battle, Beerus got ganged up on by the eleven Gods of Destruction, and not only did he survive, but he was one of the two remaining Destroyers left standing at the end; the second being Quitela of Universe 4. Quitela struggled to even land a hit on Beerus earlier in the match, so it’s hard to imagine him being more powerful. Belmod, Universe 11’s God of Destruction, was technically knocked out, but he was only pretending to be. Don’t worry though, there’s substantial enough evidence to prove Beerus is stronger than Belmod.
Belmod can be proven weaker than Beerus by power-scaling him to Goku and Jiren. Jiren is said to be objectively stronger than Belmod, his universe’s God of Destruction. And Goku, upon achieving Mastered Ultra Instinct, is more powerful than Jiren, which means he’s already far above Belmod during the Tournament of Power. Additionally, Beerus is still seemingly stronger than Goku today, even though Goku has already achieved new and more powerful forms of Ultra Instinct. This clearly puts Beerus above Belmod and makes him the strongest God of Destruction in the multiverse.

Dragon Ball: Why Super Saiyan 4 Couldn’t Work In Super
Super Saiyan 4 is a fan-favorite transformation that just made its return in Daima, but here’s why it couldn’t work in Dragon Ball Super!
In Terms of Raw Strength, Belmod May Be the Strongest
He Beat Beerus in an Arm Wrestling Match
When you ask someone: who is more powerful? The answer can depend on what exactly you mean by “powerful”. Sure, Beerus could beat Belmod in a fight, but when comparing raw strengths, it seems that Belmod is still one step ahead. In Dragon Ball Super episode 93, “You’re Our Tenth Warrior! Goku Approaches Frieza!!”, Whis mentions that there is a universe with a mortal stronger than their God of Destruction, and that Beerus was weaker than that Destroyer. Obviously, Whis was referring to Jiren as the mortal and Belmod as the God of Destruction. Beerus quickly retorts, saying he only lost to him once in an arm wrestling match, implying that he could have beaten him in an actual fight.
Beerus clearly beats Belmod in a fight, so Whis was most likely just referring to power in terms of raw strength, which means Belmod is indeed stronger in that department. So, if there’s ever another God of Destruction arm wrestling competition, or, if Zeno permits, a weight-lifting contest, place your bets on Belmod.
“Don’t go saying that. I only lost once at an arm wrestling match!” – Beerus upon hearing Whis saying there was a God of Destruction stronger than him
Quitela Takes the Crown in the Manga
Though they are similar, there are some differences between the Dragon Ball Super manga and anime, and one minor difference is the result of the God of Destruction arm wrestling match. In the manga, it was Quitela who beat Beerus, not Belmod. In the Dragon Ball Super manga chapter 28, “The Gods of Destruction From All 12 Universes”, Quitela grows excited for the Zeno Expo battle royale and brags about the one time he beat Beerus. Beerus quickly responds, saying it was only in an arm wrestling match and that he wouldn’t lose in hand-to-hand combat. It’s unclear why this change was made. It could have been to hype up Jiren’s strength more, having him be stronger than the Destroyer that beat Beerus in arm wrestling. Whatever the case, now you know the difference.
In case you’re wondering if Beerus is still the strongest God of Destruction in terms of combat in the manga; then yes, he is. Regardless of who is stronger than him in terms of raw strength, the fact is, he still took on all the other Gods of Destruction in a fight all at once and came out on top.
