After saving the Dry Devil as part of the Speak of the Devil quest, upon arriving in the Kuttenberg region, Henry will unlock access to two main mission lines. Players can complete Into the Underworld in the city and The Devil’s Pack in the surrounding countryside in any order they like.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – Best Armor
This guide will provide players with the best options for each layer of armor in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
The aim of The Devil’s Pack quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is to find members of the Dry Devil’s old gang and convince them to return for the coming fights. To start with, Henry will need to talk with Kubyenka at the Devil’s Den and ask about the men and their last known whereabouts.
Players can try to find the men in whatever order they wish. This means that dialogue options may vary between playthroughs.
Find Matthew – The Devil’s Pack In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Matthew is a former member of the Devil’s Pack whom Henry may stumble across naturally. This is because he is often waiting on the road between Suchdol and Miskowitz.
For an exact location in their specific playthrough, players can first talk with the Bailiff of Miskowitz.
Players should be careful when approaching Matthew and his gang, as they are brigands posing as tax collectors. Despite many dialogue options, Matthew cannot be convinced to return, and Henry may be in a spot of danger.
In some situations, Matthew’s gang will attack without an opportunity to talk. So be ready for a fight.
Eventually, Matthew will ask Henry to cough up. If players have gotten exceedingly rich during the first part of KCD2, they could choose to simply pay him 1000 Groschen and be on their way.
- Alternatively, the best dialogue choice/skill check is “The Devil will have his revenge!” but this will only work with a high Speech skill.
The intimidation attempt is naturally very hard, seeing as Matthew has around 7 armed men. If players fail here and can’t pay, they will have to fight against multiple opponents or attempt to flee.

Talk With Bohuta – The Devil’s Pack In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Bohuta is the easiest to find, with a marker for him at church in Grund. Unfortunately, however, he does not wish to return and has since given his life to God.
Bohuta cannot be convinced, so don’t worry about failing dialogue options or reloading a save.
While this may feel like a waste of a trip, Bohuta gives key information about Ranyek, and players may also be able to get a treasure map from Bohuta. Aside from beating him and stealing it, the best way to get the map is to pray with Bohuta, nod along, and say “Amen” rather than pointing out his poor Latin.
Find Ranyek – The Devil’s Pack In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Depending on their progress, players may have heard about Ranyek from Bohuta or Innkeeper Wolfram Raus, who will say that he was last seen in Bylany. The innkeeper at Bylany will point Henry toward some dice players who take him to Ranyek.
Unfortunately, it turns out Ranyek is dead. As he was in debt to these fellows from lost dice games, they will demand that Henry pays compensation. Players have a few options here, but non contribute to the success of the Devil’s Pack quest.
- Offer to pull Ranyek out so that they can have his expensive bow.
- Pay.
- A Speech skill check, which isn’t too hard.
- A fairly hard intimidation check, given there are three of them.
- Fight.
If the situation is defused calmly or if Henry beats them in a fight, he can go find Ranyek’s bow for himself.

Free Janosh – The Devil’s Pack In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Janosh Uher can be found in the Miskowitz pillory for attacking a local. There are a few ways to set him free, such as picking the lock at night, but there is a more honorable option that will leave Henry with a good reputation.
Another way would be to steal the keys from the Bailiff.
Speak with the Bailiff and offer to heal the wounded villager, Loyza in exchange for Janosh’s freedom. To succeed, players will need:
- Craftsmanship skill of at least 17.
- Alchemy skill of at least 12.
-
A
Marigold Decoction
.
Henry can complete the following steps:
- Examine the injuries.
- Select “Maybe a potion will do.”
- Clean and dress the wound.
- Give the Marigold Decoction.
- Pray if Henry has a high Speech stat.
- Finish the treatment.
Upon talking to the Bailiff again after Loyza has been successfully healed, Henry will still have to pay compensation for Janosh, which can be up to 450 Groschen. Always remember to haggle and lower prices in KCD2 where possible, though.
If players don’t have the money, they can come back later, as there is no rush for Janosh. Healing Loyza is time-based, however, so do this ASAP.
Henry can then head over to Janosh with the keys and free him.

Rescue Adder – The Devil’s Pack In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Adder can be found in Pschitoky by talking to the butcher’s wife, Eva. Henry should try to find out as much about the truth from her as possible, as this can help in the subsequent negotiations. Eventually, she will tell Henry that her husband and a group of armed men have taken Adder to a big tree to hang him.
Ride to the new map marker immediately without delay! There are a few ways to free Adder, but the following two options are the easiest.
- Try the Impression check if Henry has a stat of at least 20. “He belongs to the Lord of Suchdol.” Fancy clothes and other Charisma boosting buffs help with Impression.
- Fight the men via the “I don’t have to explain anything to you” option. The men aren’t armored, but the people of Pschitoky won’t be happy.
Once the butcher and local villagers have been mollified or dealt with, make sure to cut Adder down before he suffocates. If players haven’t found Janosh already, Adder will let Henry know that he was in Miskowitz.
Completing The Devil’s Pack Quest In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Once Henry has found all members of the Devil’s Pack, including those who refuse to join or, in the case of Ranyek, are dead, players should return to the Devil’s Den. Here, they should speak to the Dry Devil. This can be done before even going to the city of Kuttenberg or after completing the entire mission line that takes place there with Katherine.
If the quest has not been completed by the events of The Lion’s Den, players will once again be prompted to find the Devil’s old gang.
This will finish The Devil’s Pack quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
