The Dark Ages Wearable Replica Helmet Revealed By Bethesda

Doomguy returns later this year via the highly-anticipated Doom: The Dark Ages. Playing the game as intended along with everyone else will be one thing. However, if you want to go a step beyond, Bethesda just revealed a wearable replica of the helmet Doom Slayer wears in the game.

A first look at The Dark Ages’ wearable helmet was shared via the Bethesda Gear Store Twitter account, and pre-orders for the highly-detailed replica are now open. If you have a spare $175 that you’re willing to part with for a very special, very official collectible, and one you can wear while playing the game it has been pulled from, lounging around the house, or even while out running errands if you want to freak people out, you can buy the helmet right now through Bethesda Gear.

The helmet is more than just some wearable headwear that has been designed to look like the one Doomguy wears to protect his head in The Dark Ages, as it should be for $175. There are built-in LED lights on the front and back – battery powered, although the batteries aren’t included – and it’s complex enough that it comes with a user manual. It has an adjustable headband and is adult sized with the opening for the head being 6.89 x 9.57 inches. I’ll give you a moment to go find the measuring tape before I carry on.

You back? Good. For the $175 price tag, you’re not only getting an incredibly detailed, light-up replica of Doomguy’s Dark Ages helmet. The collectible also comes with a metal keycard replica as well as some Doom patches. All of it will be packaged into a Doom: The Dark Ages box and is expected to ship in May, presumably so it will arrive before or shortly after the launch of Doom: The Dark Ages on May 15, 2025.

It’s not clear how many of these helmets there are to go around and the replies to its reveal suggest quite a few hardcore Doom fans have already placed their orders. Some have abstained though, unhappy that this wasn’t a part of the collector’s edition. Quite a few rplies have noted that had they known this was coming, they’d have skipped the collector’s edition of Doom: The Dark Ages and bought this instead. I’m guessing the helmet reveal was saved to avoid people choosing it over the collector’s edition or vice versa.
