Where is the Rime Beetle location in Monster Hunter Wilds?
You’ll find the Rime Beetle virtually anywhere in the Iceshard Cliffs, with Area 7 and 8 being the easiest to glide between as you search for the elusive critter.
Rime Beetles have also been spotted in Areas 2, 11, and 13. They’re always on the move.
To easily spot Rime Beetles in the biome’s thick snow, just look for smooth and random paths within. The Rime Beetle rolls ammo, armor spheres, and other round objects all day long. With no real destination in mind, the pointless paths they leave behind can make spotting them a cool breeze.
Once you’ve spotted your rolling Rime Beetle, equip your Capture Net via the item bar, aim your slinger, and fire right at it.
Rime Beetles aren’t prone to fleeing at the sight of a hunter, so sneaking (or using the Ghillie Mantle) shouldn’t be necessary.

Catching a Rime Beetle in Monster Hunter Wilds is necessary to complete the second of Samin’s sidequests, following the Dapperwing request earlier in the game. You’ll get five Honey and ten Mangdragora for your efforts.
You can find Samir at the Windward Plains base camp. Trigger the questline by completing the first (and very similar) sidequest from Dareel involving the Tracktail Lizard, who you’ll find in the same area.
