Summary
- One fan has modded Jack Black’s dialogue from the Minecraft movie trailer into the game itself.
- He’ll say such iconic phrases as… “STEVE”. Or “Crafting Table”. Over and over and over again.
- Alternatively, you can grab a mod that adds Jack Black as a baby zombie, stretching his face over a cube for maximum horror.
Yearning for the mines, or more accurately, the live-action Minecraft movie, one fan spent three hours painstakingly modding Jack Black into the game to finally give Steve a voice.

There’s not going to be any Sonic-style tweaking this time.
As reported by GamesRadar, SnailMan made it so that whenever you start a new world, Steve says his own name, and whenever you make or place a crafting table, Steve mutters “crafting table” like MI6 unveiling a new gadget for James Bond.
SnailMan’s plan is pretty simple: leave no cobblestone unturned. They plan to mod every single cursed Steve line into the game (and ‘yearn for the mines’ better damn well be on that list).
Not only does he mindlessly grumble out “crafting table” and his own name, but he’ll say “Minecraft” when you open the game, “Nether” when you enter the hellish home of the zombie pigmen, and “Overworld” when you run back home.
You can see this in action below as they walk in and out of the Nether, making Steve barrel through the voice lines while also repeating his own name on loop.
If That Isn’t Enough, Check Out This Baby Zombie Jack Black
This isn’t the only way to spruce up your Minecraft experience (geddit, like spruce wood…) TheMoschopsGuy put together another cursed creation—baby zombie Jack Black.
A fuzzy, pixelated Jack Black stretched over a cube. Nightmare fuel. Combine it with SnailMan’s mod, however, and you can say your own name at the little fella before punting him off a cliff with a knockback-enchanted diamond sword.
You can download baby zombie Jack Black right now, but SnailMan’s voice lines aren’t available just yet. “I’ll publish the mod once I’ll get more sounds and events in,” they explained in a reply to their original tweet. “I submitted the mod for review on Modrinth. No idea how much it’s gonna take. Will link it here once it’s accepted.”
