Marvel Rivals has exceeded almost everyone’s expectations. With its great gameplay, fun heroes and steady content release, there’s very little for players to complain about. In fact, even those who opposed NetEase’s mid-season rank reset are now regretting it as there are too many high ranked players.

Marvel Rivals Sets Outrageous Expectations With Season 1
No matter how NetEase tries to reset expectations, there will be a lot of disappointment in Marvel Rivals’ future.
While some players want more names in the Vanguard and Strategist corners, there are hardly any complaints about balancing or skewed metas. It even plays into pop-culture by letting Moon Knight call Dracula a blood-sucking nerd that owes him money. The game’s latest announcement is also a fun little mode that players have been requesting.
We Are Groot
Clone Rumble is a new mode that will come to the game on March 7. As you may have figured out already, this mode will let each team choose one character, and those will be the only options in the match. So, you’re going to see six Captain Americas go against six Iron Men, 12 Punishers lay down turrets in every corner, or 12 Rocket Raccoons infesting the map.
Evidently, this mode throws balancing and strategy out the window in favour of pure, unadulterated chaos and fun. The trailer shows some fun interactions between characters, like two Mr. Fantastics bouncing off each other, 12 Groots covering the map in vines, and a bunch of Caps bouncing around Iron Man’s projectile.
This mode doesn’t look like it’s anything more than just a fun break from competitive gameplay. If you’re getting tired of the grind, or just can’t seem to get a win, switching over to Clone Rumble looks like a good way to refresh your mind without getting out of Marvel Rivals. The mode also has its own battle pass called Galacta’s Casmic Adventure. It’s modelled after a board game and will allow you to unlock a new cowboy inspired skin for Black Widow.
Somewhere down the line, it seems these events and modes will get a bit more diverse, and may even feature elements from other IPs. “There will also be crossover events and promotions with other media to expand the user base,” said NetEase in a recent investor call.
