How To Set Up Tours in Two Point Museum
Tours will be available for players to utilize as a means of making money in a hurry once they have progressed far enough through the first museum, Memento Mile, and have unlocked the Tour Stand. This feature will require an Expert, as well as a number of exhibits on show that will be the focus of the tour. Generally speaking, you’ll want your tours to make sense thematically, be well-decorated, and include the best quality exhibits you can find.
To set up a tour, simply go to the Items menu in the bottom-left corner and purchase a Tour Stand for 5,000 gold. This will then prompt you to place it, and from there you can start putting together your tour. Click on the Tour Stand, then Design Route (the flag icon), then Tour Setup. From there, simply click on the exhibits you wish to showcase in the order they will be presented, then hit the Confirm button.
If you click the exhibits in the wrong order, you can always tweak the order of progression via the arrow buttons next to each exhibit listed. You will see the path each tour will take, so it is easy to identify areas where it could be smoother.
Tips For Getting Five-Star Tours in Two Point Museum
Naturally, the goal of giving tours in Two Point Museum is to provide the most informative, entertaining, and the best quality experience possible, as this will increase the volume of donations your museum will receive at the end of the tour. A museum’s tour quality is determined by five factors: Average Quality, Total Buzz, Decoration, Cohesion, and Length, all of which can be improved upon if you make the right adjustments. Here are some tips for improving the overall star quality of each tour component.
Increasing Average Quality
Average Quality is in reference to the condition of the exhibits that are on display. There are essentially two areas where this can be influenced, the first of which is the quality of the exhibit when it is acquired on an expedition. The second is the cleanliness of the exhibit, which is easy to track and solve, should it become an issue.
The quality of the exhibits you acquire is largely down to luck, but you can increase your chances of bagging an epic or pristine quality piece by increasing the duration of the expedition. If you can find a better-quality duplicate of an existing piece, then you can replace it on the tour and either sell the old one or analyze it for Enlightenment.
If you find your exhibits have a high grubbiness level, then they will need to be restored by an Expert. To do this, simply click on the exhibit and select the “Call Expert” option, or pick up an expert and drag them to the exhibit to automatically assign them the task.
Achieve Maximum Buzz
Buzz more or less refers to the hype of the exhibit, and is multi-layered. Each item will have a base buzz level, which is tied to the quality of the exhibit, but there are additional factors that will contribute to the overall buzz level. For example, having a completed exhibit, in instances where there are multiple pieces that need to be found, will earn you additional buzz.
Each exhibit will have a Buzz Bonus, which will require you to fulfill an additional requirement, such as placing a specific decoration nearby. Additionally, you will also receive extra buzz for placing enough decorations around the exhibit, whether on the walls, floor, or ceiling, to improve the overall presentation.
Decorate Your Tours
Coinciding with buzz, it is important that not only the exhibits be of excellent quality, but they are also presented in a manner that impresses guests. That means surrounding the exhibits with theme-appropriate decorations.
Players will be able to place decorations via the Items menu, but not all of them will be immediately available. You can unlock additional decorations by purchasing them with Kudosh, where applicable, or by increasing your Enlightenment towards a specific theme by analyzing a relevant exhibit.
Ensure Your Tour Is Cohesive And The Right Length
It is important a tour is cohesive, meaning all exhibits that are included in the tour make sense together. In short, to maximize the cohesiveness of a tour, make sure all exhibits are of the same theme. This doesn’t just mean Prehistoric vs Supernatural, as exhibits also have sub-categories. For a more cohesive tour, choose one sub-category, such as Dinosaur Bones, and put all your artefacts from that category in one place, within close proximity to each other.
Length is also an easy facet of a tour to manage, but one that can be hard to master. You can opt for longer tours, of course, but those that are physically shorter will generally be better received. Try and pack as much as you can into a small space, and your clientele will thank you for it.
Train Your Staff
In addition to the physical condition and presentation of your exhibits, players can also boost the overall buzz and client satisfaction by choosing the right person for the job. If the employee running the tour isn’t captivating their audience, then you always have the option to train them to be better at the role.
Players can send their employees for Tour Guidelines training, which will result in increases to tour donations, tour buzz, and knowledge, the amount of which is determined by the tier of training they receive. Naturally, the higher the tier of Tour Guidelines training they receive, the greater the boost in star rating you could receive.
Apply Perks To Exhibits
When you analyze an exhibit, you will receive Enlightenment toward the article’s theme, as well as a perk that you can add to your existing exhibits. These will give you boosts in a variety of areas, depending on the perk, ranging from reduced maintenance to increased entertainment.
Some of these perks, particularly those that increase an exhibit’s buzz, will add to the overall star value of your tour. At the end of the day, the better quality the exhibit, the better the tour, so adding perks is a great way to give your items a little boost in their value.
