As you make your way through High Rank, you’ll need to be more diligent about upgrading your gear to keep up with monsters of increasing power. This means going out and farming a variety of new materials, like the elusive Monster Hardbone that is used in a number of weapon and armor upgrades. Below, we’ll take a look at every method for obtaining Monster Hardbones.
How To Get Monster Hardbone
This High Rank exclusive material is primarily obtained as a Target Reward from hunting Arkveld. Monster Hardbones have an 18 percent chance to appear as a Target Reward for fighting the High Rank version of Arkveld.
Target Rewards are rewards that come from the specific monster you are hunting, and are dropped randomly from the monster’s drop table.
You can also get Monster Hardbone as general Quest Rewards from completing the following Assignments.
- Frozen Lord on the Precipice
- Roaring Rey Dau
- Tide Overtaking Timber
- Shrouded in Black
- Awaking From a Dream
Quest Rewards are more generic items that are awarded upon completing quests, and can contain things like generic ores, Armor Spheres, and ingredients.
Uses For Monster Hardbone
Monster Hardbone is used to upgrade the Hope series of weapons to their fifth stage, as well as most of the Bone series of weapons at various points.
