Earning money in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 could be tough, but winning Dice is an incredible shortcut!

Hush, My Darling contains sensible themes. Readers are advised discretion while browsing through this guide.

Where To Start Hush, My Darling In KCD2

Hush, My Darling is a quest that is only triggered once players talk to the Quest Tipsters in Miscowitz. Either the Innkeeper or the Butcher will do since both will direct players to talk to the local Blacksmith’s wife, who is tending to a hurt young farmboy attacked by Janosh, one of the members of the Dry Devil’s gang.

Once players have the approximate location of the quest marker, they can go ahead and talk to her to start Hush, My Darling. But be prepared, this quest is one of the most disturbing and triggering ones in the game. Readers are advised caution.

Players should prepare or buy a Digestive Brew before proceeding any further, as they will be needing it for one of the most difficult parts of the quest.

Where to Find Blacksmith’s Wife Martha in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Blacksmith's Wife Martha KCD2

Martha will be located in the house next to the Smithy in Miscowitz, and players can enter her house freely, as this is not a restricted zone. They will find her tending the wounds of a patient, and will be immediately asked to help her with the treatment if they are following The Devil’s Pack main quest. Otherwise, they will trigger Hush, My Darling, a secondary quest that requires a lot of investigation.

The house is located east of the pond where the shop stalls (grocer, baker, tailor) are located. It is the first house on the northern side of the road that follows the creek to the east.

How To Complete Martha’s First Task In KCD2

The first thing players will be tasked with is to deliver two sets of horseshoes to Martha. This can be completed either by doing some Blacksmithing, or by shopping them from the nearest Blacksmith (which is not located in that town since Martha’s husband will not be selling them).

Horseshoes can be crafted using 1x Scrap Metal, and require heating the piece for 12 seconds, as well as hitting it consistently on both sides (24 blows on each side, to be precise). Once players have purchased or crafted the horseshoes, it will be time to return to Martha for further instructions.

Knight’s Horseshooes or Farmer’s Horseshooes will be good to complete the first step of this quest, but they need to be a pair of them. If players try to deliver one of each other, it will not be possible to deliver the items to Martha.

Martha will grant Henry 60 Groschen as payment, and ask them to deliver the Horseshoes to Victoria, a local girl who has been suffering from some heavy slandering from the gossipy locals. Players will find Victoria’s house following the quest marker to the southeast, and upon entering they will be received by an eerie silence.

How To Discover What Happened At Victoria’s House

Players should investigate the entire house before accessing the room on the left side of the entrance, starting from the kitchen, then the storeroom, and finally, opening the door that leads to what it seems to be Victoria’s room. The girl is clearly missing, and a blood splatter in the room doesn’t bode well. But worries not, Henry will get to the bottom of this mysterious disappearance one way or the other.

The first thing players need to do is talk to Martha to inform her of their discovery. Then, Martha will speak aloud about her suspicions about what happened with Victoria. Turns out, she was being wooed by several gentlemen, including a Soldier from Sigismund’s camp.

Though Marta only knows the identity of two of the folks: A local Farmer, and the Herbalist. So the next step will be interviewing both. The Herbalist will comply and even be astonished by Victoria’s disappearance, but the Farmer will prove quite uncooperative, and even show some animosity to Henry, proving that he is a brute.

Players can choose to teach this lout a lesson by beating him to a pulp, before getting the truth out of him: that he has been harassing Victoria and when he discovered that she fancied a soldier from Sigismund’s camp, he started some awful rumors about her.

With that in mind, players will need to run to Sigismund’s Camp to find this mysterious soldier named Black, and figure out the truth about what happened to Victoria.

This romance guide for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will explain how romance works, and provide tips for Henry’s love pursuits.

How To Gain Access To Sigismund’s Camp In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

The problem with gaining access to Sigismund’s Camp is that players will be considered hostile in this area, so they need to complete a particular quest before being able to roam freely around the camp. If players have not completed Lost Honour and restored Sir Jahzek’s honor, this will be a good way to gain unrestricted access to this area. The quest is triggered by a random encounter called ‘Polite Armed Man,’ so players should be alert for it in case they fail to gain access to Sigismund’s Camp.

Players can also attempt to enter the camp, but they will have to pass several medium and hard checks with the guards at the door, and this will be dangerous since Hush, My Darling has a secret timer that becomes active when players enter the Sigismund’s Camp area.

This part of the Quest is timed. If players don’t solve Black’s stomach issues and convince him to take care of Victoria fast, she will be found dead, and players will have failed to save her.

Once players are able to roam the camp freely, they can start asking around to figure out Black’s Location. He will be lying in the infirmary, so players need to grab or craft a Digestive Brew before speaking to him, to save them some precious time. Examine Black and have him drink the Digestive Brew, then pass the speech check to convince him to take care of Victoria, then question him about her whereabouts.

With no time to waste, players will have to grab their horses and run against time to reach Victoria and prevent a tragedy. But first, they will need the exact spot to find her faster.

Victoria’s Location In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Fortunately for players, finding Victoria if they are on time and have made all the proper arrangements prior to this part of the quest, will be quite easy. She is located in a nearby forest, east of Sigismund’s camp. Players need to run straight to her location to find her alive and prevent her from taking her own life.

After passing a few checks, players will discover the motive of her suffering: she is with child, and Black has been refusing to take care of her, which players might already know if they paid attention to the soldier’s tale. They can then decide what to do with Victoria after they convince her that everything is alright and things can be solved somehow.

Should You Tell Victoria The Truth Or Convince Her To Stay With Black?

How To Complete Hush, My Darling Kindom Come Deliverance II

There are several outcomes for this quest, but in case players have managed to find Victoria alive, they will be able to convince her that Black has manned up and has promised to take care of her and the child. This would be the better outcome for the quest, though a bittersweet one since Henry knows that Black has no love for the girl.

The other possibility is to reveal to her that Black has said that she will be taken care of, but instead convince her to flee and go to The Devil’s Den, moving as far away from danger as possible, and out of the reach of heinous rumors that might hurt her or the child. But, players also know that The Devil’s Den is not the ideal place for a girl with a child, and this might lead to a sad outcome later on the adventure.

Worst case scenario, if players delay too much or spend some time lurking around instead of going straight to Victoria, they might find her dead on the spot, which will immediately fail the Quest Hush, My Darling.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – Marksmanship Guide

If you want to better your marksmanship in KCD2, this guide has the info you need.

If players fail to bring Black to reason, but still manage to find Victoria. They can also opt for ‘Bringing Black to her,’ that is going back to Sigismund’s Camp and force the soldier to meet her personally. This can also be accomplished after healing him from his ‘stomach issue.’ If players want to unlock the achievement Henry the Matchmaker,’ they should pick up this option.

There are cases where players find Victoria, and fail to convince her, which will lead to her returning to Miscowitz, and taking her life later on. This is also one of the bad outcomes of the quest, so players should prevent it at any cost.

If players have previously failed to convince Black to assume responsibility for his offspring and the girl, they can still convince Victoria to leave everything behind and relocate to The Devil’s Den. There are also strange cases where players are able to encounter Victoria even prior to visiting Black, but since they lack important information, they fail most of the checks and are unable to convince Victoria to avoid the worst possible outcome.

Another bad outcome might happen if players convince Victoria to leave for The Devil’s Den and follow her up through the road. Sometimes, a random encounter with Cuman bandits happens around the roads leading to Sigismund’s camp, and Victoria can be attacked and killed in the process. Be it that Henry escorts her back safely to Miskowitz or lets fate choose, that is up to the players to decide. As a reward, players will receive a considerable boost to their reputation (if they save Victoria) and they will be able to keep the horseshoes since she won’t need them anymore.
