Behaviour Interactive, the developer behind the popular multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight, has confirmed the Hellraiser Chapter will be leaving the store in April 2025, which has left a majority of the player base disappointed. Elliot Spencer, also known as The Cenobite or Pinhead, joined Dead by Daylight as a Killer in Chapter 21: Hellraiser and the character originates from the 1987 horror movie franchise of the same name based on Clive Barker’s 1986 novella The Hellbound Heart.
Dead by Daylight first launched in 2017 and hosts one-versus-four games where one player undertakes the role of the Killer while hunting the remaining Survivors to sacrifice to the Entity. Eight years after its launch, the survival horror retains its popularity and even has a famous face in its player base since The Walking Dead star Chandler Riggs recently revealed which character he wants to see added to the Dead by Daylight roster. Despite the community relentlessly discussing which Killers and Survivors they wish to join the hunt, the fandom was blindsided about losing Pinhead.

Announced in a blog post and on social media, Behaviour confirmed The Hellraiser Chapter would be leaving the Dead by Daylight store on April 4, 2025, but assured players that any of the Chapter content unlocked before that date would remain available in-game. Dead by Daylight fans thought the Hellraiser sale event indicated The Cenobite was disappearing back to his hellish realm, and fans will be able to take part in the currently-running Last Chance Sale that knocks 50% off The Cenobite and his cosmetics. Additionally, Behaviour noted that The Hellraiser Chapter would no longer appear in first party stores, only the in-game store until April.
Hellraiser Chapter Leaving Dead By Daylight on April 5
Hellraiser joined Dead by Daylight back in 2021 and horror fans have favored the iconic Clive Barker-created beings in the game since. Players wondered if the removal was anything to do with licensing, and a majority of the community was saddened to lose such a unique Killer like Pinhead. Luckily, the devs confirmed the Hellraiser voice lines would remain in the game even after the Chapter gets removed.
Elliot Spencer is one of 38 Killers in the game and can possess Chain Projectiles and solve the Lament Configuration to torture each Survivor at once. Additionally, the summoning Killer’s Perks include Deadlock, Hex: Plaything, and Scourge Hook: Gift of Pain, providing the on-brand slow Generator Progression to torment Survivors for longer. There are plenty of tips for using Hellraiser’s Pinhead in Dead by Daylight while the Killer remains active in-game for the next month, leaving just enough time to experience the Hell Priest in action.
