Gathering potion ingredients in Hogwarts Legacy is essential for players looking to buff themselves in combat or last longer during fights. However, they may find themselves running out of ingredients from more specific sources not found in their Room of Requirement.
The game’s open world offers tons of ways to gather resources, from enemies to foraging spots, but sometimes wandering around can be inconsistent. Aside from simply buying ingredients from vendors, these are the best places to farm ingredients needed to sustain the art of potion-making.

Hogwarts Legacy Potion Tier List
Some of Hogwarts Legacy’s potions create some extremely powerful and deadly benefits, whereas others aren’t always strictly necessary to brew or buy.
In the northern area of Hogsmeade, Horklump Hollow can be found, which is a dark and damp place where players can find Horklump Juice, an essential ingredient for Wiggenweld Potions.
6
Feldcroft Region
Trolls & Dugbogs Galore
This region is perfect for farming Troll Bogeys and Dugbog Tongues. Circling around from the North Feldcroft Floo Flame to the outside of Rookwood Castle, players can find two Troll Lairs, where they can hunt trolls. North of the Feldcroft Catacomb is another Troll Lair.
Dugbogs should spawn frequently along the coast, and even more in the southeast portion of the region. South of the Moonstone Garden dungeon is a Dugbog Lair and a river that is ripe with Dugbogs. Should players want more Dugbog Tongues, they can follow the river northeast into the South Sea Bog area.

The South Sea Bog
Leech Juice & Stench of Death
Leech Juice is harvested from Leeches, which are found generously in wet areas like small ponds, lakes, and rivers. The best way to farm these is south of Hogwarts along the Lower Hogsfield area, simply following the river down or circling around the edge of the lake. Another great area to farm is the South Sea Bog area. Because of how common Leeches are around beaches and bogs, it’s easy to gather multiple samples in one go.

Stench of Death is another ingredient found here. It comes from the Inferi, and the best place to farm them is in Neferi Lairs. A couple of good places to start are east of San Bakar’s Tower in the North Ford Bog region, or just south of the Northern South Sea Bog Floo Station.

The Forbidden Forest
Spiders & Beasts
Spider Fangs drop from Spiders, which means the best place to farm them is in Spider Lairs. These caves and dens are found throughout the world, but one of the most common places to check out is northeast of the Forbidden Forest Floo Station.
Spiders are a rather common enemy, so spider fangs shouldn’t be too hard to find, especially when progressing through the story or exploring side content. Mongrels tend to appear in any forested areas, so they show up often throughout the Forbidden Forest.
3
Perimeter of Hogwarts
Lacewing Flies & Ashwinder Eggs
Lacewing Flies flutter near bushes in grassland areas, and due to their glowing wings, it’s easier to collect them at night. These guys are found in abundance in the Forbidden Forest and along the roads leading from Hogwarts. Continuing off the beaten path and into the grasslands, there should be clusters gathered near bushes.

2
Poidsear Coast
Lairs, Treasure Vaults, & Dugbogs
Lairs in general hold a lot of enemies of the Lair’s type and offer a lot of ingredient drops. If players start at the Tomb of Treachery Floo Flame and travel south, they’ll find a Troll Lair which is perfect for Troll Bogeys. Further southeast is a Spider Lair, and continuing south from there is a Mongrel Lair.
Along the coast and river, there should be Dugbogs, perfect for farming Dugbog Tongues. Southeast of the South Poidsear Coast Floo Flame is another Troll Lair. A circle of six Treasure Vaults lies between Poidsear Castle Floo Flame and Marunweem Bridge Floo Flame, and offer a variety of ingredient drops in the form of enemies and gatherables.
1
The Room of Requirement
Farming, Brewing & Breeding
The Room of Requirement is the best place to literally farm ingredients. Using a Material Refiner, players can passively harvest Moonstones, 10 every 10 minutes. And, of course, the Potting Table and a Large Planter to grow ingredients like the Shrivelfig Fruit for Thunderbrew and Fluxweed Stems for Focus potions.
