You may not have wondered whether there would be a dragon in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, right? While there isn’t one, a certain town in the game thinks otherwise. The townsfolk aren’t stupid; they believe it for a reason.

Find out who is behind the mysterious killings of young girls in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s Fifth Commandment quest.
During the Dragon’s Lair quest, Henry will be tasked with finding some of the bones that are said to be of a Dragon. This mission can be triggered by talking to Monk Slava in Bylany. While finding the bones may seem easy, there are obstacles, and we will guide you on how to overcome them.
How To Start The Dragon’s Lair Quest
You can start the Dragon’s Lair quest by talking to Monk Slava in Bylany. If the quest icon doesn’t appear for you, speak to the innkeeper about what’s new. Upon talking to Slava, he will ask you to deliver a message for him to Abbot Jan III.
It can also be started once you have completed the Speak of the Devil main questline. However, even after you have met the requirements, the mark won’t appear on the map. Talking to the innkeeper in Bylany may be necessary for the mark to appear.
Follow the coordinates on your map and speak to Jan. He and Gerhart would disagree about what to do with the bones, but the conclusion would be to destroy them.
Upon leaving the church, you may notice Gerhart standing outside, right next to the gate. Talk to him, and he seems to have pretty interesting plans. As Gerhart also had disagreements with the Abbot before, he aims to keep the bones to himself. So, he will offer you the opportunity to bring the item to him for a price.
How To Complete The Dragon’s Lair Quest
After giving him the message, go back and talk to Slava. When you are done, a cutscene will commence. A man named Leopold will interrupt you.
He will ask you both about the dragon bones, and Henry will be given a couple of skill checks. Both skill checks are very hard to pass, so you may fail. If you do, the two bodyguards will attack you. Now, you can either defeat them in a fistfight or just take out your weapon.
Fistfighting the bodyguards is a complete waste of time, as they will take too little damage. So, if you want to save time, it is better to take out your weapon but make sure not to attack anyone with it.
After that, talk to Vashek, who will be marked on your map. You can either pass the skill checks here or pay him 200 Groschen to get the information regarding the bones.
Choosing the persuasion skill check option is the best choice here, as its difficulty is easy. Upon succeeding, he will tell you the dragon bones’ location.
After you have finished talking to Vashek, the innkeeper, about the information, a hidden timer will start. The game won’t tell you anything about it, but there is an indication.
Gerhart has already sent his men to find the bones, so if you dilly-dally too much, they will find them first. Upon reaching the location late, you will notice the ground has already been dug with no bones inside.
So make sure to go to the location as soon as possible after talking to Vashek.
How To Find The Dragon Bones
Follow the coordinates marked on your map. Upon reaching the location, the coordinates will update, so follow them again. The search radius is way too big, so normally, it would take a lot of time to find the bones.
However, Vashek mentioned following the stream, which is the main hint. Do so and go straight. Once you see the stream is being divided into two paths, follow the one on the right and keep going straight until you reach its end.
On the ground, there will be plenty of stones, but you need to look for two bones that can be found in the middle of a lot of rocks.
Once you locate the bones, start digging, and another cutscene will commence. Leopold will be back with his bodyguards. He intends to kill you and take away the bones. Right when a fight is about to break, another party will intervene.
None other than Gerhart sent these soldiers. So, other than you, two more parties are now interested in the bones. You can either give them what they want or fight them. Fighting is the better option as, this way, you will see the quests’ end. However, the fight won’t be that easy.
While Leopold and his goons aren’t much of a threat, the other party can be quite troublesome. Start by instantly defeating Leopold and his men, which will help you shift your entire focus to the other soldiers. Try to save the one heavily equipped with armor for the end.
The other two won’t be much trouble, but they will block and parry with their shields a lot. Try to use Master Strike on them, and then deal with the commander last. Make sure to loot him, too, as he has a pretty great sword, and his armor isn’t half bad.
After you have dealt with the enemies, it is time to go back to Slava and give him the bones.
Give Bones Back To Slava
Once you are back in Bylany, talk to Slava. You will have two options. Either give him all the bones or save some of them by lying. Even if you don’t pass the skill check, you will still have some bones, but they won’t have any selling value, so their use so far is unknown.
Upon giving the bones to Salva, he will destroy them, and you won’t receive any reward. However, if you take a different route and give them to Gerhart instead, you will receive 275 Groschen. To follow this route, you would need to talk to Gerhart on your way back from the church.
So, instead of Salva, take the bones to him at the end, and you will receive the reward. You can also share the bones with the enemies, as there will be an opportunity to do so during mid-conversation. However, passing a skill check would be necessary; otherwise, you will only receive 175 Groschen.
