While hunting monsters might make up the bulk of your time in Monster Hunter Wilds, there are plenty of other materials beyond that. Fishing gets you scales, there is honey and meat for your healing and meals, berries for your bombs, and a whole lot more. Armor isn’t just made of monster parts though. Sometimes you need some ore.

And there is a lot of ore in Monster Hunter Wilds, too. Novacrystals, Fucium, Lightcrystals, Icium, and plenty more. Then there is Gracium, one of the rarest in the game. It’s a helpful one for certain pieces though, so it’s best to start stockpiling it when you get the chance. Finding it is the first challenge though.

Where To Get Gracium

Many different types of ore are found in every region of the game, and plenty are shared across regions, too. Gracium is not one of those. Gracium is only found in one location in the game, and that is the Iceshard Cliffs. It is still minded from Mining Outcrops the same as every other type of ore, it just has a much lower chance of dropping.

There are a few ways of increasing your chances though, and getting a more efficient farming run going on. The first is to farm during the Plenty. During this weather, material collection points tend to drop more and rarer materials. If you see a Mining Outcrop with sparkles around it, that means it has a higher chance of rare drops, and those should be prioritised.

To make your farming run a bit easier, make sure to set a filter on the map to only display material collection points.

The next helpful thing you can do is to let your Palico help. They love to assist you and will gather up any materials they come across, including from Mining Outcrops. This doesn’t reduce the number of times you can mine from these outcrops though, so let your Palico go first before you start mining yourself to increase the chances of Gracium dropping.

If you’re not sure if you or your Palico have picked up any Gracium, you can always check the Field Pouch for both of you.

The next best thing you can do is to wear the Azuz set. This gives you a maxed-out Geologist set, giving you more items every time you mine from an outcropping. To boost this effect even further, make sure to make a meal with some Truffle Du Conga, as this gives you the Gatherer Meal bonus, boosting the number of items you get even further. This way, if Gracium does drop, then you should get a few of them.

How To Use Gracium

You’ve (hopefully) gathered up lots of Gracium at this point. Now what is it all used for? Being a material from the Iceshard Cliffs, Gracium is mainly used to make high-rarity pieces of equipment from monsters concentrated in this area, mainly armour.

For example, the Jin Dahaad armour set needs lots of Gracium to be created, though it’s very much a worthwhile set to create. Not only does it look cool, but it both makes you immune to temperature changes, but also slows the build-up of Frostblight, making Jin Dahaad themself easier to fight.
