Universal Orlando Resort is gearing up for a major milestone as it prepares to open its highly anticipated fourth theme park, Universal Epic Universe, on May 22, 2025. The resort’s latest YouTube video, “Get Ready for Universal Epic Universe & Beyond,” offers a glimpse into the exciting new experiences that await Universal guests at the expansive new park.
Epic Universe will transport visitors to five immersive worlds designed to ignite the imagination, including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, Dark Universe, and Celestial Park. Each world promises to deliver adventures beyond guests’ wildest dreams, with meticulously crafted environments, attractions, and entertainment. Universal also announced that the new Helios Grand Hotel will offer direct entry to Epic Universe.

The new theme park isn’t just a one-time addition. Epic Universe, set to open on May 22, 2025, has expansion plots set aside for each of the themed lands, allowing for future growth and possibly even new worlds. This strategic planning ensures the park remains a dynamic and evolving destination for years to come. “We’re already planning for the next thing at Epic,” Karen Irwin, President and COO of Universal Orlando Resort, said in the newly released video. “We have a slate of new attractions that are already in development for every one of our parks.”
Universal Orlando Resort Prepares for Epic Universe Debut and New Attractions Across All Parks
Regarding what’s to come at Epic Universe, Universal Orlando previously confirmed that Donkey Kong will be available for a meet and greet at Super Nintendo World, bringing one of the most iconic video game characters to life for park guests. Super Nintendo World at Epic Universe will be divided into two themed sections, each celebrating beloved Nintendo franchises. The Super Mario Land area will feature two attractions: Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, an interactive dark ride, and Yoshi’s Adventure, a family-friendly ride that offers scenic views of the land.
Meanwhile, Universal is not neglecting its existing parks. New projects are expected to kick off soon, including the demolition and replacement of the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit coaster, which is set to close this fall. The park also announced the debut of second-generation interactive wands. These upgraded wands offer an enhanced spell-casting experience throughout The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, featuring advanced technology designed to make the magic feel more immersive and authentic than ever before. Alongside the upgraded wands, the park is unveiling five new spell locations throughout Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, with even more on the way at the highly anticipated Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic. These additions will bring the total to 30 interactive spell spots in the existing parks, with 14 more set to debut at Epic Universe, offering a grand total of 44 magical experiences across the resort.
