The worst kept gaming secret of the last few weeks has just been officially confirmed – remakes of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 are on the way later this year. As well as recreating the two games’ iconic locations and skaters, it’ll launch with brand new parks and welcome some fresh faces to its roster – including Doom Slayer.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that new enhanced versions of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 have been unveiled. Rumors began to swirl a couple of weeks back when professional skateboarder Tyshawn Jones leaked on a radio show that he would be featuring in an upcoming, remastered Tony Hawk game. Then an extremely conspicuous easter egg appeared in Call of Duty Black Ops 6’s skatepark map, Grind, suggesting an announcement about the THPS series would be coming on March 4. Well, the time has now arrived, and it’s exactly as we expected. Following in the footsteps of the excellent THPS 1+2 remasters, some of the best extreme sports games ever, it’s now the turn of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 to shine once more.

As well as its original lineup of parks, there are some newcomers that you’ll get to explore as well. The game’s official website says there will be plural “new parks” but only one has been revealed so far, and that’s Waterpark – an abandoned and dried up theme park in the Mojave desert.

The epic soundtracks of both games return too, but some more modern tunes have been added to the mix. The already extensive list of tricks has been expanded as well, which is great news for those looking to rack up some mammoth combos.

There will also be some new skaters joining Tony Hawk and the original gang. Thanks to his loose lips, we already suspect that Tyshawn Jones will be one of them, but a press release has officially confirmed Rayssa Leal, Chloe Covell, Jamie Foy, Zion Wright, and Yuto Horigome as some of the new members to the lineup. If you pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition, you will also get access to two Doom-themed skaters – the Revenant and the Doom Slayer himself.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 will be released on Friday, July 11. Those that pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition will be able to jump in sooner than that though thanks to three days of early access.

Also, if you pre-order any edition of the game, you’ll be able to play the Foundry Demo in June to get you warmed up, which features “two playable skaters, two parks, and a selection of songs.”
