Summary
- Erasure quirk nullifies other quirks but deactivates with blinking.
- New Order allows manipulating surroundings and people’s bodies.
- One For All transfers superhuman abilities like strength and speed.
The world of anime is extremely vast, but only a handful of series have managed to achieve success on a global scale, and over the past five years, My Hero Academia has become one of those series. It takes place in a world where most of the population has some type of quirk (superpower), and it focuses on Izuku Midoriya – a quirkless teenage boy who is given a quirk by his personal hero, All Might.

These My Hero Academia arcs pushed the characters to new heights, allowing them to grow and mature in the process.
There are a lot of powerful quirks in this universe, and not everyone uses them for good; in fact, there is an entire league of criminals who are dedicated to villainy. Since villains exist, Heroes do too, and they all possess quirks that are both powerful and versatile, but some of these Hero quirks are more powerful than the rest.
Updated on March 4, 2025 by George Voutiritsas: My Hero Academia debuted in 2014, and it has gone on to become one of the most popular anime and manga series in the world. The series has one of the best power systems in all of anime, as the majority of individuals in MHA are born with their Quirks.
As the story has progressed, fans have seen several unique and versatile quirks on both the Hero and Villain sides, and some of the best quirks happen to belong to Pro Heroes. Season 7 of My Hero Academia has come to an end, and the final war is in full swing, so it only seems fair to recognize a few more of MHA’s best Hero Quirks in the latest update for this list.

Heal
Arguably The Best Support Quirk, But It Has No Offensive Or Defensive Uses
User |
Youthful Heroine: Recovery Girl |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Emitter |
Ultimate Move |
Currently Unknown |
In terms of actual combat ability, Recovery Girl is one of the series’ weakest characters, but she still possesses one of the strongest quirks in MHA. It is called Heal, and it pairs well with her medical expertise. As the name suggests, it allows her to heal others, and she does so by amplifying the human body’s natural healing process.
She can only activate this quirk by kissing the injured person, and the actual healing process is dependent on the patient’s overall life force. She may not be able to do anything about missing limbs, but she can heal broken limbs and bones in just a few seconds.
47
Black
Great For Sneak Attacks, But Has Several Weaknesses
User |
Scheming Hero: Vantablack |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Transformation |
Ultimate Move |
Darkseek |
Black received very little screen time in the anime, which is to be expected since it belongs to Shihai Kuroiro of Class 1-B. It actually did not appear until MHA’s fifth season. It seemingly causes the user’s skin to become pitch black, but they can merge their body with anything dark, including darkness caused by shadows. Black does not have any size or weight restrictions, which means Shihai can merge with something as small as a mushroom.
As one might expect, Black is highly effective in cramped areas with little to no lighting because of the abundance of shadows. Black is great for launching sneak attacks on unsuspecting targets because it allows Shihai to move incredibly fast, even when he is carrying someone. Unfortunately, Black has a few weaknesses, If a shadowed are gets lit up, Shihai will automatically be ejected from the darkness. If he merges with a small object that gets grabbed by an enemy, he will not be able to escape.
46
Somnambulist
Can Put Others To Sleep, But It Is Mainly Effective Against Men
User |
R-Rated Hero: Midnight |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Emitter |
Ultimate Move |
Currently Unknown |
Midnight died during the war with the Paranormal Liberation Front, but she went out fighting. She possessed the Somnambulist Quirk, which allowed her to put people to sleep. This occurred because she was able to produce a sleep-inducing aroma from her bare skin.
This Quirk worked better on males, which means that she could have technically beaten All Might in his prime. She used a feather fan during combat so that she could better spread her aroma, and her costume was designed to tear easily, so her skin could be exposed.
45
Homing
A Sharpshooting Quirk With Low Impact
User |
Snipe |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Emitter |
Ultimate Move |
Currently Unknown |
Snipe is an experienced Pro Hero, but he is also in charge of the third-year students at U.A. High School. He looks like a stereotypical cowboy, which is understandable since his Homing Quirk turns him into a sharpshooter. Homing gives Snipe the power to lock onto any target within his field of vision – which spans roughly 650 yards. The projectiles that he shoots will then chase the target until they hit.
Snipe used Homing in My Hero Academia‘s first season, and he took out several low-level Villains with it. Snipe’s projectiles will always hit the target, but he cannot choose specific body parts. The projectiles are not that strong, but they can still pierce through flesh. The Homing Quirk wounded Tomura Shigaraki multiple times during the U.S.J. Incident.
44
Sugar Rush
Grants Enhanced Strength, But Is Completely Useless Without Sugar
User |
Sweets Hero: Sugarman |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Emitter |
Ultimate Move |
Sugar Rush |
Sugar Rush belongs to Rikido Sato of Class 1-A , and for some reason, it was hardly showcased in the anime and manga. Whenever Sato ingests ten grams of sugar, his physical strength multiplies five-fold for three minutes. Raw sugar is the best, but Sugar Rush can be activated if Sato eats enough sweets or drinks enough soft drinks. It goes without saying, that this Quirk is completely powerless if there is no sugar around.

Many members of Class 1-A made it into the hero ranking. Here are their rankings in MHA.
Sato can punch through objects and opponents with relative ease while Sugar Rush is in effect. Thanks to his training regiment, he has increased his base physical strength, which in turn amplifies the strength offered by Sugar Rush. While Sugar Rush is active, Sato has to deal with lowered cognitive functions and decreased intelligence, making him somewhat of a berserker.
43
Weld
Can Immobilize Anyone, But Will Not Work Without Without Multiple Objects
User |
Welder |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Emitter |
Ultimate Move |
Construction-Done-Kwik: Weldcraft |
Weld is a special Quirk in the sense that it can technically immobilize any target. Yosetsu Awase of Class 1-B used it to immobilize Katsuki Bakugo during the Joint Training Battle. Weld gives Yosetsu the power to merge organic and inorganic matter at a subatomic level. He needs to physically touch the two objects in order to weld them together, meaning he needs to get very close to his target, which is inherently dangerous.
In order to use Weld properly, Yosetsu carries multiple small steel logs. These logs allow him to fuse targets to structures much easier. Weld may not be an offensive Quirk, but it can end a fight very quickly, and it makes transporting Villains easier because their arms and legs can be fused together via the steel logs. Beings with superhuman strength can still break free. Yosetsu also needs to make contact with more than one object, otherwise Weld will not work.
42
Frog
The Frog-Like Anatomy Provides Various Physical Advantages, But The User Cannot Withstand Cold Weather
User |
Rainy Season Hero: Froppy |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Mutant |
Ultimate Move |
Meteor Fafrotskies |
The Frog Quirk has allowed Tsuyu Asui to become one of Class 1-A’s most dependable students. As its name suggests, Frog gives Tsuyu a variety of frog-related abilities. She can swim incredibly fast, climb walls, camouflage herself, and excrete mucus that can hide her scent and paralyze others. Tsuyu also possesses frog-like anatomy and incredible leg strength, which allows her to jump great distances.
While fighting, Tsuyu typically hits enemies with her powerful extending tongue, but she can also use her tongue to pull allies and civilians out of dangerous situations. Tsuyu can combine all her abilities and seemingly use each one without limit. Mutant Quirks come with some disadvantages though. Frogs are cold-blooded creatures, which means Tsuyu is highly susceptible to cold temperatures. Winter months hinder her greatly because she feels tired all the time, and extreme temperature changes can put her to sleep.
41
Mushroom
Can Take Out Multiple Opponents At The Same Time, But Allies Can Be Affected As Well
User |
Shemage |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Emitter |
Ultimate Move |
Splitgill Lung Strike |
Kinoko Komori is studying to become a Pro Hero at U.A. High School, but she is a member of Class 1-B. Thanks to the Mushroom Quirk, she has the ability to generate and spread fungus spores from her body. These spores will rapidly grow into full-size mushrooms once they touch a solid surface. The mushrooms can cover an entire area, and they can fully cover a person’s body.
The spores spread quickly in humid environments, so Komori uses gun-like spray bottles to raise humidity levels. While fighting villains, Komori typically summons the fungi schizophyllum. This fungi grows in their throats and knocks them out via asphyxiation. The Mushroom Quirk can take out dozens of opponents at the same time, but it can also target her allies if she is not careful. This Quirk can be countered with fire and ethanol.
40
Beast
The User Gains A Strong Animalistic Body, But It Causes The User To Become More Reckless
User |
Gevaudan |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Transformation |
Ultimate Move |
Roaring Rage |
The Beast Quirk first appears in My Hero Academia’s Joint Training Arc. It belongs to Jurota Shishida, and it has allowed him to become one of Class 1-B’s strongest fighters. It is a pretty simple Quirk, as it allows him to transform into a large, monstrous beast. He essentially becomes a sasquatch-wolf hybrid. Jurota gains a significant boost to his physical strength, to the point he can send enemies flying with a single swipe of his claws.
Jurota becomes deceptively fast while transformed and his body becomes far more durable. Even high-voltage electrical attacks cannot affect his body. It is worth mentioning that all of Jurota’s senses get enhanced as well. This allows him to track his targets. Beast is a powerful melee Quirk, but the animalistic tendencies cause Jurota to be far more reckless. As a result, he sometimes charges into inopportune situations that could have otherwise been avoided.
39
Shield
A Defensive Quirk With Some Offensive Potential
User |
Shield Hero: Crust |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Transformation |
Ultimate Move |
Shoot Shield |
Crust may have received very limited screen time, but at the time of his death, he was the No. 6 ranked Pro Hero in Japan. Thanks to the Shield Quirk, he was able to create stone-like hexagon-shaped shields by growing them from his body.
He could expand his shields into larger shapes, and he would often use them to protect himself and others. This Quirk is great for defense, but it can also be used for offense. Crust could sharpen his shield’s edges to turn them into weapons, and he could perform ranged attacks by throwing them.
38
Tape
Produces Adhesive Tape That Can Be Used In A Variety Of Ways
User |
Taping Hero: Cellophane |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Mutant |
Ultimate Move |
Trident |
Hanta Sero mastered the Tape Quirk while training with the rest of Class 1-A at U.A. High School. Like its name suggests, he can produce adhesive tape, but he can only produce tape from the openings in his elbows. There is a limit to the amount of tape Hanta can eject at one time, but he can produce quite a bit. The tape is by no means indestructible, but it is sticky enough to restrain and capture most targets.
Tape is a versatile Quirk, as Hanta can use strands of tape to swing through the air. He can create sticky traps and blockades by spreading tape around a given area. By firing multiple strands of tape at the same time, Hanta can grab multiple objects, like large blocks of stone, and hurl them at enemies with surprising force. It can easily capture multiple enemies at once.
37
Acid
Produces Highly Corrosive And Versatile Liquid That Is Harmful To The User’s Body
User |
Pinky |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Emitter |
Ultimate Move |
Alma |
Based on her alien-like appearance, most people assume Mina Ashido has a Mutant Quirk, but that is not the case. Acid is an Emitter Quirk which gives her skin the ability to produce corrosive liquid. This liquid gives Mina’s skin its pink pigmentation. She can generate large quantities of Acid from any part of her skin and can manipulate it to some degree.
The Acid that Mina produces is strong enough to melt metal objects. Thanks to her extensive training, she can now melt through just about anything, including Gigantomachia’s near-indestructible body. Mina can control the solubility and viscosity of her acid, and in doing so, she can use it to climb buildings and slide on surfaces. The main drawback of the Acid Quirk is that producing excessive liquid can harm Mina’s skin, though she can build up her tolerance through continuous training.
36
Electrification
Emits High-Voltage Electricity, But The User Can Temporarily Short-Circuit Their Brain
User |
Stun Gun Hero: Chargebolt |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Emitter |
Ultimate Move |
Indiscriminate Shock 2 Million Volts |
Denki Kaminari is part of Class 1-A, and he possesses a strong support Quirk called Electrification. It gives him the power to charge electricity and then emit it from his body. If someone touches Denki while Electrification is active, they will get shocked. This shock is strong enough to slightly paralyze his opponent. While active, Electrification also acts like a lightning rod, which means that Denki can absorb a Villain’s electric discharge.

The My Hero Academia villains sure know how to show up in style, but which among them has the most eye-catching design of them all?
Electrification is better for close-range combat because Denki can shock someone through physical contact, but he can shoot a lightning bolt a short distance. If Denki emits enough electricity, he can shock anyone around him regardless of contact. Electrification’s main weakness is the fact that Denki can temporarily short-circuit his own brain if he passes his wattage limit. If this happens, Denki becomes a sitting duck.
35
Fat Absorption
The Fat Is Great For Defense, But That Defense Weakens When The Fat Is Used For Offense
User |
BMI Hero: Fat Gum |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Transformation |
Ultimate Move |
Fataxi |
Taishiro Toyomitsu is now Japan’s 58th-ranked Pro Hero, and his Fat Absorption Quirk is highly effective during combat. An object or person will get stuck if they make physical contact with Taishiro’s body, and they will then get sucked into his fat. As a result, Fat Absorption makes Taishiro resistant to blades, bullets, and Quirks that boost physical damage.
He can also store kinetic energy inside his fat, and he can convert that energy into strength. This conversion ability allowed Taishiro to fight two highly trained Yakuza fighters – including Kendo Rappa, who possesses one of the strongest melee Quirks. Unfortunately, this ability weakens Taishiro’s defense because it forces him to burn his own fat.
34
Foresight
Allows The User To See The Future, But It Can Only Be Used Once A Day
User |
Sir Nighteye |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Emitter |
Ultimate Move |
Currently Unknown |
Sir Nighteye ran one of the best Pro Hero agencies in Japan, which is to be expected since he was once All Might’s trusted sidekick. Nighteye was a tall and lean individual, and thanks to his Foresight Quirk, he was a very competent hand-to-hand fighter.
Foresight allowed Nighteye to see another person’s future from a 3rd person perspective. To activate this quirk, Nighteye needs to touch and make eye contact with his target, but it can only stay active for an hour, and if it is used, it can’t be used again for 24 hours. This quirk may have a time limit, but it allows him to react to virtually any attack before it happens.
33
Invisibility
The User Cannot Be Seen, But They Are Constantly Invisible
User |
Stealth Hero: Invisible Girl |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Mutant |
Ultimate Move |
Warp Refraction |
Toru Hagakure has had very limited screen time, but she possesses one of the best stealth Quirks in My Hero Academia. Her Quirk is called Invisibility, and as its name suggests, it allows her body to become completely invisible. None of her physical features can be observed. Unless she is wearing some type of equipment, she can only be detected if she makes some type of sound.
Invisibility is a Mutant Quirk, which means that it is constantly active. For some unknown reason, Invisibility allows Toru to manipulate light to a certain degree. As a result, she can use her body like a lens to refract light. She can then use the warped light to blind her enemies.
32
Earth Flow
Allows The User To Manipulate Earth However They Want
User |
Pixie-Bob |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Emitter |
Ultimate Move |
Earth Beast |
Ryuko Tsuchikawa is a member of the Wild, Wild Pussycats, a Pro Hero team that specializes in mountain rescue operations. Her Earth Flow Quirk is especially useful in such scenarios because it allows her to manipulate the earth around her however she wants. This Quirk is completely useless if the user is in the air or surrounded by a body of water.
Earth Flow can move boulders around like they were nothing. If necessary, Ryuko can take out multiple Villains at once by triggering an avalanche or covering them in earth. Ryuko has mastered Earth Flow to such a degree that she can create beast-like golems that fight on her behalf. She can control several of these Earth Beasts at once, and they are surprisingly strong and durable.
31
Clones
Produces Clones That Can Swarm Opponents
User |
Ectoplasm |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Emitter |
Ultimate Move |
Giant Bite Detention |
Ectoplasm may look like a scary villain, but he is an established Pro Hero who teaches math at U.A. High School. His Quirk is called Clones, and it allows him to create clones of himself. He creates these clones by shooting ectoplasm from his mouth. Unlike Twice, there is a limit to the number of duplicates Ectoplasm can create. Most of the time, he can only produce 30 clones, but there are times when he can make up to 36. With this many clones, Ectoplasm can overwhelm a group of Villains.
Each clone is an extension of Ectoplasm’s body, and they work together like a hive mind. Ectoplasm is the only person who can actually dispel his clones, but a clone can be destroyed with enough force. In certain scenarios, Ectoplasm can create a single gigantic clone, which can trap Villains in its mouth.
30
Earphone Jack
A Good Support Quirk With Offensive Upside
User |
Hearing Hero: Earphone Jack |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Mutant |
Ultimate Move |
Legato |
Kyoka Jiro inherited the Earphone Jack Quirk from her mother. It is classified as a Mutant Quirk, but it does not significantly change her appearance. Earphone Jack gives Kyoka long earlobes that work like headphone cables, and she can control their movements. She typically plugs her earlobes into other objects. If she plugs one of her earlobes into a wall, she can hear sounds through the jack.
This Quirk is great for scouting and spying, but it can also be useful in battle. Kyoka uses several devices to amplify the strength of her Quirk. She can send powerful soundwaves through the ground, and she can direct short-range soundwaves towards an opponent to incapacitate them. Her strongest move can generate enough sound to briefly affect someone as strong as All For One. If Kyoka somehow loses her earlobes, her Earphone Jack Quirk will be completely worthless.
29
Voice
Produces A Sonic Scream That Can Affect Allies
User |
Voice Hero: Present Mic |
---|---|
Quirk Type |
Emitter |
Ultimate Move |
Loud Voice |
Based on his appearance, Present Mic looks like comic relief, but when it comes to being a Pro Hero, he is a serious individual. His Quirk is called Voice, and it gives him the ability to increase the volume of his voice to such a degree that he basically unleashes a sonic scream.

Thanks to Mic’s Directional Speaker System, he can aim his amplified voice in a specific direction. That being said, Voice is useless if the target is underground, and allies can be affected if they are in the path of the sonic scream.
