Avowed: 9 Best Unique Weapons

These are the best unique weapons you can use in Avowed.

The Living Lands have lush greenery — as seen in Dawnshore and Emerald Stair — as well as deserts and craggy, mountainous landscapes. From the surreal beauty of The Garden to the charm of Runyd’s House, here are the most beautiful locations in Avowed.

8

Runyd’s House

Although the journey to reach Runyd’s House is plagued with peril, the enigmatic Watcher’s homely home is peaceful, cosy, and utterly charming. It’s located close to the Shrine of Woedica, and you visit this location during the main questline, seeking the Watcher’s services to determine the state of your soul and what or who is responsible for resurrecting you.

The exterior of Runyd’s House features an idyllic garden and a pool where visitors can toss coins as a show of gratitude. The interior is both comfy and enchanting, with a nicely decorated living room. However, your eyes will be instantly drawn to the large tree standing in the middle, overlooking Runyd’s workspace. The spiral staircase behind it leads to Runyd’s bedroom, where you’ll find a chest with some essential crafting materials.

Sand Sea Oasis

The Sand Sea Oasis in Avowed.

Although Shatterscarp is a hot, arid, desert landscape, there are certain areas where life thrives, and one of the most visually captivating is the Sand Sea Oasis. Located in the Great Sand Sea region northeast of Thirdborn, this oasis features a tranquil pool surrounded by greenery, with a rocky overhang nearby that offers cool shade.

It comes as no surprise that someone decided to settle in the Sand Sea Oasis, as former sailor Tauwe pitched a tent beneath the overhang. During the side quest, One Last Drink, you’re tasked with Captain Ngunu to fetch Tauwe for a little reunion he’s planning. Although Tauwe came out of that gathering alive, his enjoyment of the oasis would come to a premature end if you decide to go with Ryngrim’s plan for Shatterscarp.

6

Temple Of Eothas

In one of the side quests in Dawnshore, Dawntreader, the godlike sets off to save an Aedyran expedition team but ends up in an enchanting underground temple to Eothas. Amidst the waterfalls, glowing adra pillars, and massive twining branches on the cave ceiling lies the Temple of Eothas, built by a fellow godlike, Sargamis.

Sargamis’ invention, a massive statue surrounded by multiple contraptions to activate it, sticks out like a sore thumb. With the beauty of the sheer awe-inspiring scenery around you, along with a complex, in-depth storyline to boot, it’s no wonder that the Temple of Eothas has proven to be one of the more memorable sights in the game.

5

Twin Offerings Overlook

The godlike stands at the top of the Twin Offerings Overlook in Avowed.

At first glance, the Twin Offerings Overlook in Shatterscarp doesn’t appear all that visually appealing. There’s a xaurip camp at the base, and to top it off, there’s a challenging bounty to complete near the top in the form of a boss fight with Xaurip Chief Grithin. But what waits for you at the peak is more than worth the blood, sweat and tears.

These are your best options for Heavy Armor in Avowed.

Not only do you get one of the best unique weapons in the game and a new godlike ability, but also a gorgeous coral garden and breathtaking views of the Great Sand Sea. The tippy top of the Twin Offerings Overlook hits you with a burst of colour and a welcome reprieve from all the fighting.

4

Ryngrim’s Domain

The interior of the tower in Ryngrim's Domain in Avowed.

In the main quest, Face Your Fears, you set off to Ryngrim’s Domain in Shatterscarp to speak with the notorious Archmage herself. Even the entrance to her domain screams the macabre beauty that you’ll soon see more of, decorated with, upon closer inspection, what turns out to be shrieking bodies made out of a huge chunk of ice.

The interior of Ryngrim’s Domain is an icy dreamscape, a show of Ryngrim’s power and a testament to her ego. Although it’s riddled with a ceaseless stream of enemies and irritating portals, you can’t deny that Ryngrim’s Domain is one of the most beautiful and well-designed in the game.

3

Shrine To Wael

Close to the entry gate to Shatterscarp are enormous, though pretty, pink coral rocks that seem to grow out of the drab, grey mountains around it. These eye-catching rocks make for a scenic route that eventually leads to a cave housing the Shrine to Wael.

Here, the pink rocks grow in abundance and the place grows all the more magical with the glowing plants dotting the cave ceiling. This area is easily missed if you’re not into exploring as much, but it’s a sight that the hardworking Envoy is more than deserving of seeing.

2

The Delemgan Glade

The Delemgan Queen in Avowed.

Although Emerald Stair is already a beautiful region, the Delemgan Glade seems to take it a step further when it comes to the beauty of nature. It’s home to the Delemgan Queen, but it would have been easier to appreciate it if we weren’t so busy trying to avoid getting killed by her underlings.

However, the most beautiful sight in the glade is definitely the round chamber where the Delemgan Queen resides. Like a scene straight out of a fairytale, the Delemgan Queen basks in the glow of the floating golden orb, while her subjects kneel at the base of a staircase covered in curling branches. Mystical and surreal, it’s well worth going down the diplomatic route with the Delemgan Queen so you can enjoy her domain without the threat of violence.

1

The Garden

Sapadal's memory in Avowed.

Although the Garden is meant to be Sapadal’s prison, it’s certainly the most aesthetically pleasing location in Avowed. Ethereal in every sense of the word, the Garden is very dreamlike in quality, from the gigantic tree exuding colours from its branches to the godless ruins that also serve as a tomb.

Since the Garden is meant to contain Sapadal, the developers did a swell job capturing the essence of the god of the Living Lands, and how her aeons of captivity have affected the physical reality of her prison. It’s a shame that the game doesn’t allow you to return to the Garden after you finish the main storyline, but it cannot be denied that it’s a world you’d like to get lost in.
