As the description of these new Pops implies, these aren’t just standard Mortal Kombat figures. All of the four characters featured are using fatalities. Scorpion’s Pop has been designed to look like it is in mid-air thanks to the incorporation of a transparent stand, the ninja’s yellow kunai swinging out in front of him. Meanwhile, Kitana’s Pop is holding steel fans that look like they’re covered in blood. Not the first time blood has been featured in a Funko Pop’s design, but it still feels like it shouldn’t be allowed, in a good way.
Funko Has Turned Some Of Mortal Kombat 11’s Fatalities Into Pops
Sub-Zero, Scoripion, Kitana, And Kung Lao, Get Over Here!
Kung Lao uses his hat for a lot of moves and fatalities, so it makes sense that his weapon of choice for this new Funko Pop be that very same hat with a serrated brim, also covered in blood like Kitana’s fans. Sub-Zero’s new Pop is the most unique of the MK11 quartet, however, as it appears to hone in on a particular fatality rather than the generic references in the other three figures.
Sub-Zero’s new Pop has been designed to make it look like it’s made of ice. Not because someone has used the Mortal Kombat OG’s own powers against him, but because Sub-Zero is using his Frozen In Time fatality. The finishing move begins with Sub-Zero using his powers to make an ice replica of himself. He then proceeds to win the fight by impaling his unsuspecting opponent on the frozen fake Sub-Zero.
Funko hasn’t revealed when its new Mortal Kombat 11 Pops will be available to buy or how much they will cost. However, they’re expected to be available this week, possibly as soon as Wednesday, and are all standard sized figures so should cost $12 each.
