If you’ve played a Monster Hunter game, then you’re more than likely already in love with the lovable Felynes that cook all your meals and help you out in battle. They’re more than just a distraction though, and have lots of skill that can really help you turn the tide of battle in a pinch. And in Monster Hunter Wilds, those moves can get even better.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Complete Material Retrieval Guide
Material Retrieval lets you gather items in the background during Monster Hunter Wilds. Here’s how!
Every now and then, your Palico will offer you quests to help them unlock new abilities, or upgrade old ones. Your Palico is a steadfast ally, and it’s worth doing these quests as soo nas they become available. And with the Plunderang, you might just get lucky and find the exact material you’re looking for.
How To Start The Purrfect Plundering Quest
Purrfect Plundering is the very last quest that your Palico will offer you, granting them their last unique support move. And because of that, it means you have to put in the legwork to get there. This is only available in High Rank, and requires finishing the final Low Rank battle first. On top of that, you must have finished all of your Palico’s prior quests as well, such as ‘Rath-From-Above, Go!’ and ‘A Gutsy Move’.
With all of these complete though, you can head on over to your tent in any Base Camp around the world, and have a chat with your Palico. They have just one more invention they want to try it, and they want you to hunt a specific monster to do so. So head on over to Alma and get ready to have your Palico fully decked out.
You must hunt a Guardian Ebony Odogaron for this quest, and it must be from the specific hunt your Palico gives you. Any other one won’t count.
How To Defeat Guardian Ebony Odogaron
Guardian Ebony Odogaron is one of the last monsters you will encounter in the Low Rank story, and can be a particular challenge to keep up with if you’re using slow, heavy weapons. On top of that, this is a High Rank hunt, meaning they will be a significant amount stronger than when you fought them during Low Rank. However, their tactics don’t change all that much, and so neither should yours. Just make sure to equip some good weapons and armour, and don’t rely too heavily on elemental builds since Odogaron can inflict you with Dragonblight.
Otherwise, the hunt will go just like any other one. Unlike the flashy appearance of the Rath-From-Above airship, the Plunderang is considerably more modest. It is simply a boomerang, but one that can steal materials from a monster. You’re unlikely to get any of the rarest pieces with it, but it’s very helpful in letting you stockpile some of the smaller materials so you can focus on the more specific ones.
Like other Palico Support Moves, the Plunderang has a cooldown, though it’s not quite as long as some of the other moves.
