New tactical shooter Fragpunk is as much Mario and Slay the Spire as it is CS:GO and Valorant.

The game introduces a new type of mechanic to the hero shooter: Shard Cards. These playable cards modify the game as you play, granting special abilities like enlarged heads, extra movement speed, or spawning combat bots to assist your team. The game releases on March 6, 2025 on all platforms.

Is Fragpunk Crossplay?

Fragpunk will be crossplay at launch for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Crossplay will be enabled at launch by default, although there are options for players to turn the crossplay feature off.

This is useful for console players who don’t want to play in PC lobbies, and for PC players who don’t want to play against controller players.

Does Fragpunk Have Cross Progression?

Cross progression will be available across all platforms – once you’ve set up your account, you can access your battle pass, unlocks, and characters on any platform.

Fragpunk is a free-to-play game with microtransactions. You’ll earn progress on a Battle Pass by completing challenges, collecting daily log-in rewards, and more.

There are three types of currency in Fragpunk:

• Gold – Used to unlock new Lancers and basic items, earned via playing the game and certain in-game events.
• Glunite – Used to unlock Rare Items, earned via playing the game and certain events.
• Fragpunk Coins – Purchased with real money, though you can also earn it through events, memberships, and the Battle Pass.

There are 13 Lancers available at the game’s launch.

You start the game with five unlocked Lancers. More can be purchased using Gold which you’ll earn by playing the game.
