In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the Speech stat can be just as important as the Vitality and Strength stats when it comes to survival. Various Speech perks always come in handy when you’re trying to talk your way out of sticky situations, or convince other characters that you’re right and they’re wrong.

Speech governs various aspects of the game, including skill checks, buying and selling prices, merchant haggling capabilities, and even combat. Whether you’re charming NPCs or intimidating bandits, picking the right Speech perks in the game can make all the difference.

Partner In Crime

• You can now sell stolen goods to anyone without ever getting detected.

The Partner in Crime perk enables you to sell stolen items to any merchant with no downsides at all. Stealing expensive items is one of the best ways to stock up on a lot of gold in the first half of the game, but there are very few options for selling them while in Trosky, being limited to the fence in the Nomad’s Camp and also the Miller Kreyzl.

With this perk, you no longer have to seek out shady merchants or fences; you can instead sell all of your stolen items without merchants ever being able to detect them. This does have a minimum level requirement of 20, so this will likely be a late-game perk, but it is worthwhile all the same.

Hustler

• Makes it easier for you to sell stolen goods without getting caught by a merchant.

For early game thievery, the Hustler perk is a great option. Being a pre-requisite to the Partner in Crime perk, this one makes it easier to sell stolen goods, although, unlike Partner in Crime, there’s still a chance of deduction.

The best way to overcome this is by bundling up your stolen items with a few non-stolen items, and it works surprisingly well in confusing the merchant. On top of this, the perk also nets you some Stealth and Thievery experience points, making this a solid choice to acquire as soon as you can.

Artisan

• You get ten percent better pricing when buying and selling weapons, armor, and clothing.

Artisan lets you sell all of your armor, weapons, and clothing for a ten percent higher price. This might seem like a small amount, but it slowly accumulates throughout the game and can make a difference early on when you’re struggling for gold.

However, given the game’s lax economy once you arrive in the Kuttenberg region, this perk is better suited to the first half of the game, and it’s best to get it as soon as you can.

The perk Polished Wares gives you an additional ten percent bonus for items that are in a perfect condition of 98 percent or higher. Combine this with Artisan, and you’ve got a really powerful combo that can increase sales by 20 percent for perfect-condition items.

Battle Cry 1 And 2

• After using a Battle Cry, you deal 15 percent more damage for 20 seconds.

The Battle Cry perk affects the Battle Cry mechanic, with the first part increasing your damage output by 10 percent and the second part increasing it to a total of 15 percent, while this status effect lasts for a hefty 20 seconds.

Without the Battle Cry perk, the mechanic becomes pretty useless, as the protagonist Henry will just yell out a cry, but without anything to back it up. Combine this perk with the Dreaded Warrior, and enemies will noticeably lose their cool in combat.

Dreaded Warrior 1 And 2

• Battle Cry buff now reduces enemy combatants’ morale and fighting capabilities.

The first part of the Dread Warrior perk increases your courage during battle when you use a Battle Cry. This decreases their morale levels, making them weaker and also more likely to just give up on fighting you altogether.

The second part of this perk makes it even stronger, decreasing the enemy’s morale levels even further when using a Battle Cry. Both of these perks are great, especially combined with the Battle Cry perk to drastically buff that mechanic, and you’ll find combat much easier as long as the buff persists.

Final Offer

• You get one more chance to bargain after a merchant loses their patience.

The Final Offer perk is great if you love to bargain. This perk lets you go at it with a merchant one last time, instead of the merchant getting annoyed at your lowball offers and refusing to haggle with you any further.

In the long run, this can save you a ton of gold as you now have much more flexibility to either lowball or highball merchants when buying or selling, respectively, and get a better idea of their bargaining cutoffs.

The Silver Tongue perk in the same Speech category gives you a +4 Speech bonus when haggling, and combined with the Final Offer, lets you get off with some outrageous deals when haggling for higher prices.

Ladies’ Man

• When dealing with women, you get a +2 bonus on all skill checks, a 15 percent discount on purchases, and a 25 percent discount on bathhouse services.

The Ladies Man perk brings some nice attributes, as you get a +2 bonus to your Speech skill whenever talking to a woman. This makes a good difference when you’re trying to talk your way out of a tricky situation or when convincing someone during a quest, for example.

Additionally, it also gives you a 15 percent discount when buying any item from merchants who are women and also a 25 percent discount when using a bathhouse. Acquiring this perk is a no-brainer.

Jack Of All Trades

• You get a +2 bonus to all skill checks.

This perk gives you a permanent +2 bonus to all skill checks in the game, letting you bluff or lie your way out of tricky situations with much more ease. This bonus also applies when haggling with merchants.

You also now get double the amount of experience when successfully performing such skill checks, giving you a small but good amount of extra Speech experience in the long run.
