What trouble can Majima get up to in Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii?

Throughout series history, Majima has been seen sporting different outfits, uniforms, and disguises, so it’s fantastic to see just how much you can change what he wears in Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii. While there are options to change his hair, accessories, and each individual component of his clothes, his best looks are his full outfits, but which are the best, and where do you find them?

Even though Majima has a massive selection of different outfits to choose from, none of them have any impact on his stats – with that role being taken by rings, so you don’t have to compromise your fashion for your performance in-game.

That’s part of what makes the Armor outfit so hilarious. Whether Majima is sporting the traditional outfit that goes as far as to cover his face, or is running around only in underwear, he’ll have exactly the same defense. If you’re looking to pick up this original outfit, you can find it in a container in Little Japan, a fitting spot for the Japanese-inspired costume.

Zombie

While most of the outfits you’ll get for Majima in Pirate Yakuza are original to the game, there are a few outfits that were plucked from previous Majima appearances to pay tribute to the fan-favourite’s colourful history.

One of the best is the Zombie outfit from Yakuza Kiwami, which goes as far as to change Majima’s skin texture, giving him a tattered version of his original outfit. This is one of the harder outfits to find since you’ll have to complete the Alo-Happy photo challenge in Madlantis, but it’s worth it for this reward.

In spite of his objective lack of vocal ability, Majima has a history of singing, and that’s best highlighted by the selection of songs available in Karaoke. One of the new songs for Pirate Yakuza is Midnight Desire, a death metal-inspired track, and while the outfit itself doesn’t feature in the music video, there’s no doubt that the Death Metal outfit was inspired by the new song.

It’s not a cat, Noah.

With its distinct make-up and detailed jacket, it’s one of the most flashy costumes that Majima can wear. In spite of how impressive the design is, it’s easy to pick up, being found on a rooftop in the Cultural District, available once you’ve got the chain-hook.

Bodysuit

In spite of the beautiful beaches you can explore, and the sea-faring theme of Majima’s adventure, you’ll spend surprisingly little of the game actually swimming. You do have the option to go for a dip in the ocean, but there unfortunately, there isn’t much to do there.

If you’re looking to protest the lack of swimming content in Pirate Yakuza, then you can make Majima constantly wear the Bodysuit outfit so he looks like he’s always ready for a swim. Fittingly enough, it’s found in a container on Aloha Beach on a lifeguard stand, so it’s one of the first you can get upon arriving in Honolulu.

Sea Dog Style

Of course, when Majima’s first spin-off game was announced, it could never be as simple as being a standard Like A Dragon game with Majima, and had to be something as unexpected as a pirate-themed adventure, befitting the unpredictable nature of the hero.

However, after the initial shock, the idea settles quite quickly thanks to just how well-suited Majima is to the pirate get-up plastered all over the game’s promotional material. While there are a couple other pirate-inspired outfits to choose from, the best is undoubtedly the default Sea Dog Style, obtained partway through the game’s first chapter.

Desperado

Bounty hunting is one of the best activities Majima can frequent throughout Pirate Yakuza if he’s looking to make a quick buck, and you can spend hours running around Honolulu cleaning up the streets from roaming dangerous criminals.

If you want to switch Majima’s outfit to something a little more fitting for the job, you can pick up the detailed Desperado costume. It’s found in District 5 just outside the Diamond Head bar, where Majima will unlock bounties in the first place, so as soon as you’ve unlocked the side hustle you can pick up the matching uniform right after.

3

Idol

Majima’s history as a recording artist isn’t just limited to the new tracks included in Pirate Yakuza, and the karaoke featured in the game also borrows some popular tracks of Majima’s from previous Like A Dragon and Yakuza games.

One of the most iconic is 24-Hour Cinderella from Yakuza 0, where Majima will be wearing his idol outfit from the prequel, roller skating and performing classic J-pop-inspired choreography. The track and the matching outfit are so popular that it’s reused in the new track The Sun At 36.5°C. If you’re looking to get this gaudy fit for overworld exploration, it’s fittingly located in a back room of karaoke bar Revolve.

2

Pyrodancer

Thanks to its real-world setting, you’ll find plenty of references to traditional Hawaiian culture featured in Pirate Yakuza, and this even extends to the outfits that are available for Majima to wear.

One of the best is the Pyrodancer costume, which has Majima dressed in his own version of a Hawaiian fire-dancing outfit with personalized details like hints of purple to match his colour-scheme for the game. If you’re looking for Majima to represent the city the game takes place in, you can find it in a Downtown container.

1

Goromi

If there’s one other Yakuza or Like A Dragon game where Majima stood out the most before Pirate Yakuza, it’s the remake of the original, Yakuza Kiwami. Thanks to the addition of the Majima Everywhere feature, the Mad Dog of Shimano was lurking around every corner, in a variety of disguises, looking to ambush Kiryu.

While there were plenty of standout disguises (like the aforementioned Zombie), the most popular has to be Goromi, Majima’s drag persona, who kicks up a fuss in the hostess bar in an attempt to lure Kiryu. It would feel wrong for this outfit to be excluded in Pirate Yakuza, so thankfully it’s easy enough to find in a Cultural District container.
