Best Locations To Farm Coal In Palworld
Views: 0

You need many materials when crafting in Palworld, coal being one of the most important. Coal creates refined ingots, which are heavily used later in the game. It won’t be long before you’re crafting late-game weapons and armour, so having a reliable source of coal is crucial. Having a base dedicated to farming coal or knowing areas with a few deposits can make all the difference.

It can be tiring, scouring the entirety of Palpagos Islands for a few coal nodes. You’d much rather be defeating powerful Pals and taking over towers. This list will give you a few locations with numerous coal deposits, so you can spend more time exploring and fighting.

Updated on February 26, 2025, by Mohamed El Ouardighi: Palworld continues to get free updates, with the latest adding the new Feybreak Island. Naturally, we revisited and updated our lists, including this one, to help you find the best spots to farm coal.

10

West Of The Alpha Boss Anubis

Coordinates

-161, -92

Materials

6 coal

1 ore

These coal deposits are far from the Alpha Boss Anubis

and can be mined peacefully. There are five nodes of coal and one node of ore to mine. Nearby, there are also some sulphur deposits to grab. There are also Dumuds wandering the area, which are a great source of High Quality Pal Oil

.

If you want to make a base, these nodes will make it tricky, as they’re on top of a rocky structure. Your Pals might struggle to reach the coal, so this spot is better for quick trips.

9

Southeast Of Beach Of Everlasting Summer

Coordinates

-706, -644

Materials

6 coal

Mount Obsidian is packed with all sorts of mining sites – whether it’s ore, sulfur, or coal, you can find it here just by exploring the area. However, some spots naturally stand out more than others, either due to their location or the quantity of chunks available for mining.

This particular spot is especially good because it’s located on a distinct-looking island just southeast of the Beach of Everlasting Summer—you can’t miss it. Here, you’ll find a few coal chunks, and the best part is that there are no enemies in sight. It also makes for a great spot to set up a secondary base if you’re looking for a convenient mining hub.

8

Southeast Of The Alpha Boss Anubis

Coordinates

-93, -123

Materials

6 coal

6 stone

The small desert area north of the Investigator’s Fork fast travel holds numerous groups of coal deposits. This particular group is close to the border of the desert, so you’ll easily spot it. You’ll also be close to a level 47 Alpha Boss Anubis, so be careful not to stray too close.

There are six deposits to collect from. Since there are no fast travel points in the desert, it might be worth creating a base and filling it with mining-focused Pals. You can get a steady coal supply by dedicating a base to mining.

7

South Of Mount Obsidian

Coordinates

-741, -694

Materials

6 coal

Another great location for you to farm coal is located just south of Mount Obsidian region; not on the beach shores, but on the hill above it. If you’re using a flying mount, you’ll easily spot the dark chunks of coal, which you can mine with your pickaxe.

However, you won’t be alone, as some enemies will be roaming around. It’s a good idea to take them out first to ensure they don’t interrupt your farming process.

6

West Of Mossanda Forest

Coordinates

201, -218

Materials

7 coal

This area of coal deposits is very close to a fast travel point, making it easy to take a quick trip when you need coal as soon as possible. There are seven nodes to gather from, making it an efficient and wealthy location. While the hilltop is too uneven and rocky for a base, there’s a flat area southeast which could potentially be a home.

Given the name, there are plenty of Mossanda

s wandering the area for you to catch, along with a few other pals. There is also a settlement nearby with a trapped pal that you can farm frequently.

5

North Of Sand Dunes Entrance

Coordinates

295, 236

Materials

8 coal

From the Sand Dunes Entrance fast travel point, you can fly or climb to the top of a rocky mountain to find eight coal nodes clustered together. There are numerous node locations in the desert, but this one is one of the most efficient as it’s near the fast travel.

Setting up a mining base could be tricky here, as the terrain is uneven. Many enemy Pals are scattered around the desert, so you’ll want to be careful of who you run into. If eight nodes aren’t enough, there’s another small group southwest of this point with six coal nodes.

4

West Of The Mount Obsidian Anubis Statue

Coordinates

-570, -652

Materials

6 coal

The Mount Obsidian Anubis Statue is a unique location in Palworld. Only a few aggressive Pals are around the statue, so you’re free to explore without worry. Near the statue, there’s a Skill Fruit Tree you can harvest for more Pal skills.

West of the fast travel are six coal nodes to mine. This area is effective for a quick visit; the terrain isn’t too friendly for a base, though you can certainly try it. There aren’t many Pals around the nodes, so it should be a peaceful trip.

3

North Of Duneshelter

Coordinates

327, 485

Materials

9 coal

3 ore

This collection of nodes is in the middle of nowhere, but it grants you a lot of materials for your travelling efforts. There are nine coal nodes and three ore nodes nearby to collect from. The area is up a sandy mountain, so you’ll need a flying mount to get up quickly.

Unfortunately, all the nodes seem too far away from each other to create a base for all of them. You’ll have to make do with a base only using some of the deposits, or just visit the area occasionally with Pals and a pickaxe.

2

Northwest Of Fisherman’s Point

Coordinates

-516, -730

Materials

6 coal

Fisherman’s Point is a friendly settlement location south of the volcanic area of the Palpagos Islands. As long as you’re friendly, there are traders you can bargain with. The surrounding area is generally for high-level players, so prepare your gear before heading out.

Northwest of the settlement, there are six coal nodes to mine. This group of nodes is in a great location if you want to do some quick mining while you’re trading with the settlement. Dangerous Pals are lurking around, so take some backup with you.

1

Northeast Of The Sealed Realm Of The Guardian

Coordinates

189, -37

Materials

6 coal

8 ore

Climbing up the cliff from the Sealed Realm of the Guardian brings you to one of the best mining locations in Palworld. Filled with ore and coal deposits, it’s one of the best places to farm supplies.

Unfortunately, it’s not an efficient area for setting up a base, as it’s on top of a cliff. You can set up a base nearby, but you’ll still have to gather the supplies yourself. It’s worth taking Pals that increase your inventory size to make as few trips as possible.

Palworld has been described as Pokemon with guns and well, it’s hard to argue with that. The game is very similar in nature to the Pokemon formula, tasking you with catching and working with monsters called Pals. There are key differences, though. Palworld is rooted in multiplayer, oh, and, unlike Pokemon, its Pals have guns.
