New players are best taking some time to get to know each weapon type in training before choosing what weapons to stick with, as each has an extensive moveset. Hammers are a heavy weapon type, designed for dealing slow but powerful hits that can stun and stagger monsters. For players who want to wind up and swing for the fences, these are the best Hammer weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds.
This list includes the best hammers for Low Rank hunters, as well as the best hammers for different High Rank builds, as opposed to just the Hammers with the best attack ratings.
11
Bone Bludgeon 2
Reliable Low Rank Hammer
- Rarity: 2
- Recommended Hunter Rank: 1-4
- Attack: 676
- Skills: Focus lv.2, Attack Boost lv.1
- Obtained: Crafted in Bone tree (Sturdy Bone x2, Monster Fluid x1)
For new players starting in Monster Hunter Wilds‘ campaign, a good early hammer to aim for is the second rank Bone Bludgeon. It’s relatively cheap to craft in terms of parts, and sets itself apart from other early hammers by having attack boost level one as an innate skill as well as focus level two.
While it’s a difficult technique to pull off, offset attacks are a powerful part of the Hammer’s kit. Early players should practice countering monsters with the upswing of the Hammer’s three-hit combo attack.
10
Rompo Wrecker
Early Poison Build
- Rarity: 3
- Recommended Hunter Rank: 5-6
- Attack: 728 (+ 170 poison)
- Skills: Focus lv.2
- Obtained: Crafted in Rompopolo tree (Rompopolo Hide x3, Rompopolo Claw x2, Poison Sac)
Once players get through the early part of the campaign and reach hunter rank 5, they’ll have a lot more options for weapon crafting. Farming some Rompopolo parts will let players craft this Hammer, which has a decent basic attack rating as well as poison damage.

With Focus level two, this weapon is good for charging attacks to damage wounds and break monster parts, so using skills like Partbreaker will make it even more effective. If players don’t want to go for poison and part breaking, the Balahara Hammer 2 is another good option at this stage, with better headshot stuns and water elemental damage.
9
G. Veldian Malleus
Draconic Damage
- Rarity: 4
- Recommended Hunter Rank: 6-8
- Attack: 884 (+ 160 Dragon)
- Skills: Focus lv.2
- Obtained: Crafted in G. Arkveld tree (Tough Guardian Bone x2, Guardian Blood, Guardian Scale x3, Guardian Pelt x3)
Once players get to hunter rank 6 and above, they’ll need a good weapon option to carry them through the end of the game and into High Rank hunting. The G. Veldian Malleus is a solid option, as it has an excellent base attack rating for this level, and the Dragon-type damage won’t be resisted by most monsters the player will encounter at this stage. It also still has focus level two, so it has effective charge attacks and can still be used with Partbreaker for breaking parts.
8
Cluster Hammer 2
Sleep Build
- Rarity: 5
- Recommended Hunter Rank: 9-20
- Attack: 780 (+ 210 sleep)
- Skills: Focus lv.1, Charge Master lv.1
- Obtained: Crafted in Nerscylla tree (Nerscylla Certificate S, Nerscylla Claw+ x3, Coma Sac x3)
Sleep is a highly effective status ailment in Monster Hunter Wilds. With Charge Master and Focus, this hammer can reliably proc sleep multiple times in a hunt, allowing the player to get free big damage hits on their target.
For new Hammer players, focus allows charge attacks to charge faster, and charge master increases the power of ailments and elements with charge attacks. Since Hammers have very effective charge attacks anyway, that makes this a potent combo for bonking foes unconscious.
7
Artian Hammer
Highly Customizable Hammers
- Rarity: 6
- Recommended Hunter Rank: 21-35
- Attack: 884 (+ 270 chosen element)
- Skills: N/A
- Obtained: Crafted with Artian weapon parts (Disc, Disc, Tube)
Artian weapons are a different type of weapon to the ones created via the standard monster part crafting system. They don’t have innate skills, instead giving the players more decoration slots to customize with. The stats and element of Artian weapons will also vary depending on the rarity and type of the parts used to make them.
To craft Artian weapons, players need to defeat Tempered monsters. They’ll drop various shards which can be appraised after a mission, giving Artian weapon parts of different rarities. The big advantage of Artian weapons is their customizability, allowing players to create the ideal weapon for their build or a specific monster. This Hammer is the first rank of Artian Hammer weapons.
6
Shell Hammer
Big Blast Damage
- Rarity: 6
- Recommended Hunter Rank: 21-35
- Attack: 1092 (+ 340 blast)
- Skills: Charge Master lv.3
- Obtained: Crafted in Gravios tree (Gravios Certificate S x2, Gravios Skull x3, Gravios Wing x5, Gravios Pleura+ x4)
The Shell Hammer is a good all-rounder option to take Hammer players from the lower end of High Rank hunts to the higher tiers. It has a high base damage score for a rarity 6 Hammer, and the added blast damage is a nice bonus. Charge Master level three makes that blast damage even more effective with the Hammer’s heavy charge attacks, too.

The trade-off is that with low affinity, this weapon will scale much worse for affinity-boosting builds than an Artian Hammer, though this can be offset with skills and gear.
5
Singha Gada
Headshot Stuns
- Rarity: 8
- Recommended Hunter Rank: 36+
- Attack: 1196 (+ 250 ice)
- Skills: Slugger lv.3
- Obtained: Crafted in Blangonga tree (Hunter Symbol II x5, Blangonga Pelt+ x6, Blangonga Tail x4, Jin Dahaad Icegem)
The Singha Gada is a good choice for high-rank hunters when they need some ice elemental damage. The big appeal of the Singha Gada is the innate skill Slugger level three, which massively increases stuns from attacks on a monster’s head. The weapon also has white max sharpness, which is uncommonly high for all but the best Hammers.
4
G. Exultant Bedivere
Guardian Dragon Hammer
- Rarity: 8
- Recommended Hunter Rank: 36+
- Attack: 1248 (+ 250 Dragon)
- Skills: Focus lv.2
- Obtained: Crafted in G. Arkveld tree (Hunter Symbol III x5, Arkveld Calloushell x4, Arkveld Tail x2, Arkveld Gem)
G. Exultant Bedivere is the final Hammer in the G. Arkveld tree, and the Dragon-type damage is still very effective in the right hunts, even at High Rank. With Focus level two as an innate skill, players can still rely on faster charge attacks as well as the weapons’ high base damage. The affinity is relatively low at -10%, but it’s not as low as some other high-damage weapons, meaning it’s easier to offset this disadvantage with skills.
3
Precipice Logamtu
Ultimate Ice Damage
- Rarity: 8
- Recommended Hunter Rank: 36+
- Attack: 1092 (+ 500 ice)
- Skills: Focus lv.3
- Obtained: Crafted in Jin Dahaad tree (Hunter Symbol III x5, Jin Dahaad Horn x4, Jin Dahaad Carapace x4, Jin Dahaad Icegem)
Precipice Logamtu is the ultimate Hammer for dealing ice damage. A lower base damage is offset by a huge 500 elemental ice damage, so if players need to focus on ice damage for an endgame hunt, this Hammer is the best option. With innate focus level three as a skill, charge attacks are easy to pull off, so this is a powerful Hammer when set up with elemental damage buffs.
2
Moteurvankel
The Highest Rank Artian Hammer
- Rarity: 8
- Recommended Hunter Rank: 36+
- Attack: 988 (+ 320 chosen element)
- Skills: N/A
- Obtained: Crafted with Artian weapon parts (Disc, Disc, Tube)
Moteurvankel is the final Hammer in the Artian weapon tree, so players will need to combine Artian weapon parts of the highest rarity to craft it. It allows for the same heavy customization as the previous Artian Hammers, so players are free to craft this Hammer as needed to suit their build (as long as they have the right parts).
1
Graviton Hammer
Blast Critical Build
- Rarity: 8
- Recommended Hunter Rank: 36+
- Attack: 1300 (+ 400 blast)
- Skills: Charge Master lv.3
- Obtained: Crafted in Gravios tree (Wyvern Gem, Gravios Medulla, Gravios Carapace x6, Hunter Symbol II x5)
The Graviton Hammer is the final weapon in the Gravios tree, and players who got used to using the Shell Hammer for blast critical hits might want to upgrade to this option in the endgame.
Charge Master level three as an innate skill will boost the effectiveness of this strategy, and the Graviton Hammer has one of the highest base attack ratings of any Hammer weapon, as well as the added blast damage.
