Shortly after the launch of Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.18, Square Enix confirmed that the 86th episode of Letter from the Producer Live will air on Friday, March 14, at 6:00 AM Eastern. Alongside the Live Letter date, Final Fantasy 14 confirmed some changes to the Allagan tomestone currency system in Patch 7.2, Seekers of Eternity.
The 86th Live Letter broadcast will air in the middle of March, with Patch 7.2 scheduled to arrive in the latter part of the month. In the previous Live Letter broadcast, Final Fantasy 14 producer and director Naoki Yoshida detailed some of the key features of the Seekers of Eternity update, including new main story battles and long-awaited features like Cosmic Exploration and the Occult Crescent field operation. Final Fantasy 14‘s next patch will also see raiders tackle the Arcadion’s Cruiserweight tier on normal and savage difficulties and include various Job balance changes in PVE and PVP content.

Days after launching Patch 7.18, Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy 14 players won’t have to wait long for more 7.2 updates. According to the Lodestone, the 86th Letter from the Producer Live will be streamed on Friday, March 14, at 6:00 AM Eastern, on Final Fantasy 14‘s official Twitch and YouTube channels. Although the audio will be in Japanese, the presentation slides and information will include English and Japanese text. A trailer for the Seekers of Eternity update will be featured to begin the broadcast, along with confirmation of the patch’s release date. Between the long-established pattern of Live Letters airing 10 to 11 days before a major patch and the previously announced late March release window, Patch 7.2 will likely launch on Tuesday, March 25, barring any issues.

Along with news of the next Live Letter, Patch 7.2 will also change the Allagan tomestone currency system used to purchase endgame gear. Final Fantasy 14 confirmed in a separate Lodestone post that Allagan Tomestones of Aesthetics will be retired in Patch 7.2, and Heliometry tomestones will have the weekly cap of 450 removed. A new currency, Allagan Tomestones of Mathematics, will be capped at 450 per week. Causality and Comedy tomestones that were used during the Endwalker expansion will be deleted, so players have until Patch 7.2 maintenance begins to turn in any old tomestones for equivalent currencies.
At the time of writing, Final Fantasy 14 is hosting the annual Little Ladies’ Day festival and the seasonal Moogle Treasure Trove campaign to tide players over until Patch 7.2. What surprises await players in the Seekers of Eternity update remains to be seen.
