Wingdrake Hide Location in Monster Hunter Wilds

Wingdrake Hide is an Equipment Material in Monster Hunter Wilds that is used to craft an armor piece and several Talismans. The material is also used in certain Kinsect upgrades, making it very desirable to players who like to use the Insect Glaive. Fortunately, it is not very difficult to obtain Wingdrake Hide in Monster Hunter Wilds, and this guide details exactly where players should look for it.

Players can only obtain Wingdrake Hide in Low Rank maps, as the monsters that award them will yield Wingdrake Hide+ in High Rank. If a player has reached High Rank, but is still in need of Wingdrake Hide, they should speak with Alma (Monster Hunter Wilds‘ Quest Counter), post a Low Rank Optional Quest that takes place in the Plains, Forest, or Basin, and then target the monsters that are detailed in this guide.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Wingdrake Hide Locations

Baunos

Wingdrake Hides can be carved from the carcasses of Baunos, small flying monsters that can be found in Monster Hunter WildsWindward Plains. More specifically, Baunos can typically be seen flying around Areas 8, 10, 11, and 13, and players who look to the skies after traveling to those areas should find them quite easily.

The “Filter Icons” feature is a great way to pinpoint the precise position of a Baunos. To use this feature, players should open the map, select “Filter Icons” in the bottom-left corner of the screen, open the Small Monsters tab, and select a Baunos to drop a waypoint on it. Players can then call their Seikret and allow the mount to take them directly to the winged monster with the auto-move feature.

Upon locating a Baunos, players should aim their Slingers at it. Once the monster is in-range, an input will appear atop it, and players should press that input to pull down the Baunos. Players must then simply use their favorite weapon in Monster Hunter Wilds to dispatch the small monster and then carve its carcass to obtain a Wingdrake Hide.

Harpios

Wingdrake Hides can also be extracted from the carcasses of Harpios, small flying monsters that appear in both the Scarlet Forest and Oilwell Basin. For those players who are visiting the Forest, Areas 9, 12, and 15 are great targets, while Area 2 is an excellent place to look for Harpios in the Basin.

Again, the “Filter Icons” feature makes finding Harpios quite easy, and players can access the feature by opening their maps and navigating to the “Filter Icons” tab in the bottom-left corner.

Unlike Baunos, Harpios are often standing on the ground, making it very easy for Monster Hunter Wilds players to attack them. Once one of these small wyverns has been slain, players can collect a Wingdrake Hide by carving its carcass.
