Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most complete and complex games of the last 10 years and, arguably, Rockstar Games’ magnum opus, going toe-to-toe with the best titles in the GTA franchise. Not only does this title have a compelling narrative, challenging achievements, great missions, and likable characters, but there are also lots of items for players to use.

Fallout 5 is far away, but games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Ghost of Tsushima could be the perfect sources of inspiration.
At some point, you’ve probably wondered how you can get Dynamite, as it can be very effective at dealing with large groups of enemies despite its short range, thanks to its highly destructive power. Here’s how to get Dynamite in Red Dead Redemption 2.
How To Get Dynamite In Red Dead Redemption 2
Getting Dynamite in Red Dead Redemption 2 isn’t particularly difficult. However, you won’t be able to purchase this item until a certain point in the game. You can buy Dynamite from Fences, but only after completing the “Who the Hell is Leviticus Cornwall?” mission. Once you’re past that point in the game, all you have to do is locate a Fence on your map and purchase the explosive. The base price of this item is $1.00, so unless you’re drastically strapped for cash, you should be able to buy the maximum possible amount at a time, which is 8 sticks of Dynamite. Fences are great places to get all sorts of items other than Dynamite, such as the Pyscho Mask and other masks.
Dynamite is great to throw at large groups of enemies, as the explosion can be quite devastating. However, the accuracy of this item is rather low, and so is its range, so you’ll want to make sure that you aim carefully for large clusters of people to maximize the damage output and the Dynamite’s efficiency.

What Other Uses Does Dynamite Have?
While it’s quite unorthodox, you can also use Dynamite for fishing. This can blow several fish out of the water to save you time in case you just want a quick meal. However, the fish that you catch will likely be of poor quality, and you’ll also lose a small amount of Honor by doing this since it’s a really cruel method of catching your prey. That said, this only applies to Red Dead Redemption 2, as there’s no Honor penalty for doing this in Red Dead Online. If you’re playing the latter, Dynamite will also be available at the end of a different mission, which is “Honor Among Horse Thieves”.
You can also craft Volatile Dynamite, which is a more dangerous version of regular Dynamite, as it has a wider explosion radius and deals more damage. To get it, you’ll have to find the Pamphlet for it at Hani’s Bethel, in a chest under one of the wagons near the house. You’ll also need Animal Fat and any type of High-Velocity cartridge.
