Though there are various ways to defeat bosses in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, one player crafted a homing cart with mounted lasers to beat the annoying Mucktorok boss with no issues. The Tears of the Kingdom cart maker shared a video demonstrating their deadly device against the Mucktorok’s sludge attacks.
As the boss of the Water Temple, the Mucktorok is one of four boss monsters summoned by Ganondorf to terrorize Hyrule in Tears of the Kingdom. The Mucktorok took over the Water Temple hovering above Zora’s Domain in Lanayru, one of the main regions of the diverse Hyrule landscape. From the Water Temple, the Mucktorok spewed sludge to contaminate and pollute the waters of Zora’s Domain, putting the Zora in grave danger from the lack of clean freshwater. Link teamed up with his friend Prince Sidon to cleanse the Water Temple and eliminate the source of the Zora’s plight.

While playing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, one player creates a Formula One car to race around the open world of Hyrule.
Although the Mucktorok and its sludge-powered forms can be a nuisance in the Water Temple, one Tears of the Kingdom player crafted a machine to take it down easily. On the r/HyruleEngineering subreddit, a Redditor named JYGX shared a video of a homing cart they crafted for the battle. The cart had lasers mounted in the middle, which dealt consistent damage to the boss. The homing cart was given fans for acceleration and keeping up with the Mucktorok’s frantic movements.
Tears of the Kingdom Player Crafts Homing Laser Cart to Battle the Annoying Mucktorok Boss
A balance and a big wheel were placed in the middle of the cart to keep it from toppling over, and two water spouts were placed on the big wheel to clean up the Mucktorok’s sludge. Knowing that the homing cart would drain Zonai battery charges quickly, JYGX attached two batteries to the cart’s rear side. Though Link would normally rely on Sidon’s water shield or water-based items to clean up the Mucktorok’s sludge, the creative freedom of Tears of the Kingdom allows players to improvise unique stratagems.
While the Mucktorok is normally fought at the Water Temple, the monster can also be found in the Depths of Hyrule following its first defeat. With normalized gravity, the rematch against the Mucktorok is one of Tears of the Kingdom‘s more challenging battles. However, JYGX’s homing cart made short work of the Mucktorok, as all Link had to do was avoid damage and keep the cart’s battery topped off.
Other Redditors complimented JYGX for their ingenious contraption. With the Zonai tech pushing the Zelda franchise to its limits, it remains to be seen what Tears of the Kingdom fans will create next.
