If you love the charming pixelated farming of Stardew Valley but want a different kind of responsibility, Travellers Rest has the answer. Instead of tending to an ever-expanding agricultural empire, you’ve got a tavern to manage and grow. The Isolated Games life sim has been steadily getting better since an early access launch in 2020, and now the chaos of running a pub just got a smidge easier. That’s right, Travellers Rest finally has online multiplayer, and the game’s bigger than ever because of it.

Travellers Rest is all about that cozy loop of crafting, farming, building, and cooking. Instead of tending to the fields, though, you’ve got to meet the needs of customers. To do this, you can adjust the layout, furniture, and decor of your very own tavern, and open the doors to all manner of people. Perhaps one customer will quietly sit in the corner, pipe in hand, while another will need to be kicked to the curb to prevent any further disturbances. It’s not just a management game, though, because you can explore the world, discovering new recipes and other bonuses to bring back to your establishment.

Now, the new online multiplayer update means you can invite three friends along for the ride. While any progress made is explicitly for the host’s game, every player can still level up their accounts and bring a share of the profits back with them after a session, so everyone comes away with something. If you do stick around you’ll get a bedroom in the host’s tavern, and you can decorate this however you like.

The new multiplayer update has done wonders for the Travellers Rest playercount, too, with a new peak of over 5,700 people at once on Steam. If you’ve been looking for a new agricultural adventure to while away the hours on a stormy Sunday, Travellers Rest is the place to do it.

Much like the incremental updates to Stardew Valley, Travellers Rest is a game that keeps getting growing. Isolated Games has added an entire city for you to explore, filled with new NPCs, shops, and activities to take part in. Other patches have also added more crops, recipes, and areas to venture into, with the Steam Early Access game not done yet.

Isolated Games has launched the Travellers Rest online multiplayer update for all players. The game is also 33% off until Thursday March 13, so you can expect to pay $12.05 / £10.04 until then. Find the game here.
